Why Megatron SHOULD be a gun

Recommended Posts

Also, if Megatron becomes a tank then it takes a certain element away from Optimus Prime.

Uh... no. In both the G1 cartoon and comics humans have been seen carrying Megatron. Not to mention Soundwave and Blaster, along with their cassettes. That mass wasn't there. I'm not saying mass-shifting isn't a lame fanboy excuse to allow some toys that were made for a different line to be able to have robot modes as big as a guy that turns into a truck in a 1980's children cartoon, because it is. I'm just saying his density is about the average for a handgun his size, which negates one of the good points about Megatron being a gun. Honestly, I think if we got a version of War Within Megatron like we did for Starscream in GF, I doubt anybody would ever Starscream about him being a tank again.

*ahem*

Just because mass is there don't mean it'd feel like it. He could still have all of his mass folded and compressed in a small place, but anti-gravity units could make it seem as light as an ordinary handgun.

I'm not saying that IS the case, but it is a logical possibility.

Who said the gun has to shrink? He can be a handgun that can operate on its own, and fly around on its own, like Shockwave.

But classicly, he doesn't. Only Shockwave can be cool enough to have that ability.

Ok, now you're just being picky.

:lol

I'm just going by everyone else's geewun standards. I wouldn't care if Megs were a huge floaty gun. I just think a tank is way cooler. Especially if it's green with some purple.

Reason for Megatron to be a gun: He used to be a gun. All other arguments are nothing more but rationalisations for that.

Megatron

- gun: 1x (G1)

- car/racecar: 2x (G2 & C)

- jet: 2x (MW & E)

- T-rex: 2x (BW)

- Dragon: 2x (BW & BM)

- weird head thing: 1x (BM + Universe repaint)

- tank: 4x (G1, G2, G2smaller & A; 5x if counting Reverse Convoy)

If we go by what has come before (like they're doing with Prime), then Megs should be a tank.
