Hey guys, I'm working on the design for my fan character, BIACS. His alt mode is a garbage truck, and his arms are inside the back of the vehicle (where the trash goes).  The compactors sprout from his wrists - in robot mode, these would look like basic fingers, two coming down and one coming up.  The "thumb" would fit between the two "fingers".  They'd all be big and thick, and slightly rounded.  in alt mode, one side would be two fingers coming down, one thumb coming up, and next to it, two fingers coming up, one coming down, that way they'd all alternate in compactor-mode. 

 

Any ideas how to work this, toywise?  I thought they might flip back to rest on the forearms to allow the fists to come out, and come back to act as clampers when the fists retract (the brute mode deal).

That sounds complicated, I can't wait to see pics. I'm afraid I can't help you, but I think you have to make rotating wrists so the claw rotates and the fingers alternate.

yeah i was thinking that too, that way they'd alternate in alt-mode, but match symmetrically in brute bot-mode.
