When. Hehehe

Here's hoping (but I agree, it is only a matter of time before we see bigger and more expensive Alts)

its not imposible its just inprobible it i mean how many kids who make up a huge percentige of sales (way more then us collectors) want to spend $30 on a single 1:24 scale toy hell what parent is going to buy that for them.

anniversaryoptimusprime

And I think there's every chance of anniversary Starscream or whatever they'll call him being released too.

The Alternator line is an occasional line.

Unlike the other lines there's a release of what? 1 a month on averge?

And with no large lines with dozens of characters released monthly planned, a $30 figure every month or two is comparatively small.

yes annie prime was big, diecast awsomeness and aimed just at collectors but it was also a shelf warmer or did you just forget that

as for screamer if they do it will be in limited numbers maybe like the TRU reissues if at all. IMO i can see the US and EU missing out on all of the collectors items such as THS and master peace

for a cellector with a large amount of money to spend $30 a month is nothing. but if your a parent $30 for a 1:24 toy car is very steep when that same amout of money can get you alot more in power ranger stuff alone and renember we dont even make up %10 of the transformer toy consumers so who do you think hasbro are more likly going to aim their products at?

any ways IMO bigger alts are never going happen hold me to that if you want

as for this tank megs i dont know. I want it but only if its about the same size as annie prime

renember we dont even make up %10 of the transformer toy consumers so who do you think hasbro are more likly going to aim their products at?

As I stated once before, whilst official, that is an estimate.

There is no surefire way of knowing what percentage it is as they have no idea who exactly buys what in stores, or over ebay and so on.

I'm not gonna cvlaim we're teh majority or that it's completely even, but I'd say we're higher than 10 percent.

On top of that, whilst the Alt line is not specifically aimed at adults or collectors, there is no show, there are no ads, there is nothing here in the UK at least targetting kids.

It is to date the most collector orientated line.

I'd say that there's a higher collector percentage in this one line than there is in Transformers sales in general, much higher.

Which ties in to this:

but they were both leaders and big name characters and they had thier own cartoon aswell as being designed with kids as the main consumer

If a kid wants a $35 Transformer because he's a leader and has a show and is aimed at him, he's not likely to want regular Alts either.

If he does like Alts that don't have a show, he's going to want a larger one if he see's it.

Especially if it's a leader figure as Megatron would be.

If kids like the line, this would be no different to the Ultra figures and they'll sell.

If collectors are the main buyers, then money isn't an issue and they'll sell too.

Not every kid wants Power Rangers though.

I also said comparatively because of the same thing you said.

Hasbro claims we are a small amount of the Transformers buying market.

Yet main lines have a huge amount of figures, and if we're not buying them someone must be.

And I doubt that kids are getting just one or two basics a year to outnumber us in sales so much.

Looking at the rumour here, Megatron would be the first in a line of larger Alts.

No one said there would be no more regular Alts, just some larger.

Yes, parents might pay an extra $10 an alt 2 or 3 times a year, but the fact there are no main lines or very tiny ones means they're spending much less there in the first place, so it does work out a fair bit less for some.

They also said they'd do more bigger cars this year.

*still hoping for a Soundware/Soundblaster Hummer*

can you point me to that sorce of that info idd like to read it for myself

:roll

Trypticon_1977 of Don Murphy's Message Board has made a claim that Alternators Megatron is coming soon and is the first in the new larger scale. Here is some of what Trypticon_1977 posted:

"I have seen it, I have the pics.....as soon as I am given a green light I will try to give the DM kidz the very first sneek peek at something very cool.

Bin / Alt Megatron is coming!!!!!!!!!"

"All I will say at this point is.......... he IS the first in the new larger scale series with the as expected higher price point.

and as far as I know his sketches were actualy keep pretty tightly from the public this time.

so none at this point have leaked out."
