I like "them just being toys" but that's JMO

Maybe it's just me, but I'm trying to find commonalities between the bumper and the gun, and I'm not finding any.  The curves don't match, they don't share any similar markings or grooves; They probably are the same, but I'm just not seeing it.

 

Also, where do the pieces between the front wheels and the tops of the legs in truck mode go in robot mode?  The pieces with the two slits in them that make the truck look almost sporty.

 

Beyond that, I think I have a very basic understanding of the transformation process.  So far my favorite Optimus design.

 

Oh, and I could care less about Hot Rod.  Give me Sideswipe and Sunstreaker!

I just thought the bumper formed that arm kibble of his, and the gun came from the sleeper compartment on the top.

Prime actually looks better each time I look, though I am really not a fan of the arm kibble. (Backpacks I can live with.) And the alt mode exudes badassedness.
