Who gives aPowerglide about the character if the toy is awesome? G1 Starscream getso n my nerves nowadays(Execpt in the Beast Wars episode Possession), and yet I'm excited about MP-03 because it will most likely be good.

 

a suggestion: take a good, long look at a lot of the Optimus Prime figures. a lot of them are awesome. is it because they are Primes? No. it is because they're good toys. you can't honestly tell me MP-01 isn't a good toy. I do tihnk it's overrated, but it is a good toy if you look at it objectively without any nostalgia or dislike tinted glassess.

Why bother? The GF/Cybertron version is fully articulated and looks almost exactly like the one in the show. You're just going to make it die-cast, that while cooler would make him easy to scratch and more expensive.

Yea I would hafta agree.I didn't choose optimus prime pics for my avatar and sig cuz optimus was my favorite character.I picted(misspelled :tfmad ) because they were awesome.So what if we've got like 50 optimus primes already?

?? You are saying characterization doesn't matter, then jumped right into saying how a character gets on your nerves in a cartoon show?

 

MP-01 is a great toy, granted, but out of a few good toys, there are a lot of bad ones. Right off the top of my head, Armada Superpants Optimus Prime and Energon Optimus Prime sucked hard ass. Yeah, yeah, the argument is that it'll "grow on you," but if it doesn't suck in the first place, it doesn't need to "grow on you," but you'll like it right away.

 

I'll stand by what I said about Optimus Prime being WAAYYYYYY overrated, and the legions of blind Optimus Prime worshippers don't help the situation at all, either. As I said, there are OTHER characters in the Transformers Universe that is worthy of being "masterpieced" other than ANOTHER version of Optimus Prime. Seriously, I would love to see a masterpiece version of Megatron, Soundwave, Devastator, Jetfire, Grimlock, or even Wheelie, before I want to see another version of that Autobot eyesore Optimus Prime.

 

Then again, I don't think Optimus Prime is the Second Coming of Christ, so what I said is just IMHO.

You missed my point entirely. Yes, characterization doesn't matter WHEN IT COEMS TO THE TOY BASED OFF OF THE CHARACTER. That's why I used the G1 Starscream example. He's a whiny little annoyign Starscream, YET, yet I still am excited about MP-03. understand?

Personally, I liked Energon prime right form the getgo, and bought one. Yes, he's an ugly SOB, but so are a lot of G1s that I liked. Perceptor, for instance. BM had some ugly toys that were good too, like Quickstrike.

 

He's giot a lot of playability and Blot.

 

i should also note I was a big Power Rangers fan as a kid. :redface

 

I'm interested in Superpants Prime, but only because he's a combiner and I have an unnatural love for combiners.
