You guys are being a bit harsh....

 

I mean essentially - i agree with you -BUT the dude may be posting on here eager to show us his swag - and we have all seen purchases that have stumped us and i dont think this could be counted the worst.

 

If it makes him/her happy then cheers to you dude! I wish i had an Alt. Mirage.

I can understand spending an assload of cash on a rare figure like BW Metals Ravage or e-Hobby Astrotrain or what have you...

 

but dude, Mirage is gonna be at Target in a month for $20

I guess i am just reacting to the revelation that a die-hard fan of that intensity is likely to be one of our board mates and we could be ripping on the dude with out knowing hes here....

 

also i was forced to watch Trekkies the other night (scariest thing we have seen on our weekly movie night yet) and those people are spending $1000's of dollars on rediculous stuff.

All i can say is; the mind boggles.

 

As if it wasn't going to be scalpled enough to start with, now people are going to be listing it for $40.00 when it hits retail.

And that is a surprise to you that scaplers will be selling it for $40 over the next few weeks? Happens every time.

Like I said before, I can definitely relate to the "winner." I have spent a lot of $$ on certain figures, and frankly I am very proud to own those figures, regardless of what it cost me. If it makes him happy to have Alt Mirage early and he has no problem paying that much then that's great. I just think that the concensus is that the final price was a bit higher than most people are willing to pay for a figure that should be out soon. I do agree that we probably shouldn't be ripping him too much b/c he probably is on the boards somewhere, but I think all everyone is doing is stating their opinion, and not in a particularly harsh way.

 

I do hope that whoever won Mirage does post a detailed gallery and review on the boards, that would kick ass.

Corsa Bid on it....But I think he stopped 180 dollars ago. 

I certainly spent enough money on dumb little accessories to complete my G1 guys...

 

but then that was fair market value. If I wanted a gun for Cyclonus, I was going to have to suck it up and pay the 18 bucks for it. But if Hasbro was going to be imminently releasing a "G1 Accessory Pack" that would have all the pieces I needed.... well shoot, I would have waited.

 

The issue to me isn't what a collector is willing to pay for a collectible item, but just how insane people can get when they're impatient or just have to be the winner.

 

but I don't mean to give the impression that I'm really concerned about this.... just explaining myself a bit
