Up close, his face looks a hell of a lot like Power Master Prime's big head. The eyes almost look like they have lids. His antenas are sorta shaped like armada Prime though.

I think i see how that works... This figure is just a series WTF design ideas.

 

It looks like by folding the Grill in makes his chest jut out ala Skids.

But it also seems like it would have been infintely easier and more asthetically pleasing if it just foled down and had the RAM Grill at his waist.

 

Also i cant seem to get my head around how or why the sholdures TF the way they do. There had to be some logic to that decision....but i cant see it.

I have two thoughts. Either HasTak was pleased with the current results or Maybe if they made him any more complicated, the cost would have had to go up? As is, I wouldn't say they cheaped out on this fig though either. Like I said above, the Grill, Roof, rear bumber and spoiler are painted. Robot mode, his head is totally painted blue and silver, his shoulders, forearms, upper thighs, his crotch, the black around his shin pads, all painted.

 

I agree with you on the Grill gut Idea. They could have given him grill abs*like always* and to compensate for the extra body length(cause of the grill abs) his thighs could have extended longer. He shoulda had a neck too like Grimmy.
