Why/How do TF's age?

Recommended Posts

The TFs look like old people or are male or female because they inherantly AREN'T capable of any of those. They see these as common traits in other cultures they have encountered, and have adapted themselves to suit. Such as if a race were encountered where they hold old looking people in high regard, you would think you should create a treaty or trade agreement or whatever with an old looking robot right? Obviously Alpha Trion was a billion years old but Omega Supreme was pretty old too and he didn't have a beard!

If anything, perhaps it is something the Quintessons had programmed into Vector Sigma or whatever. They obviously aren't robots, and likely weren't cyborgs their entire existance.

Society/Culture adaption occurs all over, even in our world. It can be seen in various other Sci-Fi series as well.

I think it has to deal with both physical age and maturity, but getting a new body kinda revamps the age thing . Maybe thats why Prime is so tough. That and the matrix :tflaugh  But really, he seems so much older than everybody including Jetfire. Upgrades and the matrix does kinda explain how he keeps up.

The only way they age, is through experience. The longer they live, the more they experience. Physically, they don't grow older. However, as one grows older, ones taste changes, evolves. As a human dresses up flashy and exciting in his youth and adolescense, he will town that down when he gets older. They will change their wardrobe to something more respectable. In a similar manner, Alpha Trion and Kup just updated their body, which is analogue to their wardrobe, to suit their changed perspective. Instead of wanting to be flashy, they wanted to have a more respectable outlook.

Kup feeling all the scars and pains he endured during his many battles is more psychological than physical, I think. It's a case of phantom[pain. The pain isn't actually there, it's psychological.

Ofcourse, in Kup's case, there could be a different explanation. Knowing Kup, he'd just be too darn stubborn to update his body, and will only allow superficial updates, no large overhauls. That would also explain it, and bth theories are completely in character, I think.

Sounds good to me.

The funny thing is, story wise, All the original G1 bots are over 4 Million years old. They all should have wiskers growing outta their antenas.

Instead of growing beards, they should have them rusting or leaking fluids. :Dc

They were dead/asleep/in coma for said 4 million years so that dosn't count.

Minus the hibernation Prime is 5 million years old. Alpha Trion is 11 Million.

A thought occurred to me....how do TF's age? Like Alpha Trion, who is depicted as a frail, sometimes befuddled elderly Transformer, complete with white Fu-Manchu moustache. And what about Kup...who seems to feel every ache and scar he ever recieved?

Was it just aesthetics?  I can see a transformer maturing in regards to their knowledge and experiences, and their components wearing out (wouldnt they just repair or replace them as needed?)

Thoughts? Comments?

They were just drawn up that way to give a new scheme on a character. Some older than others some that have experienced it all and can give knowledge and guidance to a younger generation.

If you want to talk about age, did you see how Hot Rod grew into Rodimus Prime when he opened the matrix. He turned from a teenage hot head to a mature adult capable of leading the autobots in a matter of a few seconds. That's tv for ya..... :tfgrin

As entirely mechanical lifeforms, TF's could replace any part as needed. Alpha Trion and Kup were characterized that way just because that's how they were written.

exactly

Rodimus a capable leader? Never.

How old is Hot Rod supposed to be anyway?
