I thought Zemeckis was rumoured in the early stages....

a Zemeckis and Speilberg team up would have been fun.

 

NO one seems to quite match the Zeal and energy that they can produce when in top form - but then you have to ask - are either of them still in their top form? or even doing silly fantasy movies like this.

 

A Cronenberg TF :tflaugh - my guess is would look and feel much like Derick's art from G2 comics (or Jae Lee - from more recent outings)

Makes me laugh at the thought -but wouldnt want to actually endure a film like that. (anyone seen crash? icky!)

 

Scorcesse - i wouldnt want to watch.  I like him and all but - just no.

 

Copola i think woulda turned out the same kind of misstep that Ang Lee did with Hulk. Although more visually interesting.

I'm not posting this to Starscream about Michael Bay being in charge -- what's done is done and he's heading it no matter what. I'm just trying to see who you'd have wanted to see do it instead if he hadn't been the final choice.

 

As strange as this seems...I'd go with Joss Whedon. Being a fan of Buffy/Angel, I think he could do it fairly well -- he can give non-humans fleshed-out personalities, and he does stylized action really well.

 

Only downside? Whedon tends to be a smug, self-back-patting attention whore. No offense, but he needs to get over himself before he can be taken as a serious director/writer, which is probably why Serenity tanked.

 

EDIT: The other downside -- his penchant for cheesy-ass one-liners. Ugh.

an the reason the movie failedi n the box office is because it wasn't advertised enough, and because it's a sequal to Firefly, a property that failed.
