Well the new Beast Wars Comic

Recommended Posts

For one we get to see that on Cybertron the Tf have alt modes that look just like their beast modes on Earth.  This finally puts to rest the problem I've had in the first episode where Cheetor, Rattrap, etc all have names that relate to their beast modes.  They weren't coming up with new names, they were just happy they found alt modes like their ones on Cybertron.

Also, the new Primal and Megs figure for 10th anniversery are definatly their Cybertronian alt forms and not their Earth beast modes, which makes me like the figures a whole lot more.

Good deal.  Only one issue in and this comic rocks.

I haven't read the new BW comic, but how much sense does it make to have a beast mode on a completely mechanical and robotic planet?

But they are robotic beast modes!  lol

Well the way I rationalize it and hopefully they will, is that after the Autobots and Decepticons got done fighting, the real issue of the war wasn't resolved, which was Energon, so they had to choose modes that weren't as Energon taxing.  So climbing a building as an ape would be more energy efficient then being a helicopter.

And it looks like some of the Cybertron alt modes still have some sort of vehicle as well, like Transmetals.

actually if you looks more carefully you will realize that none of them had cybertronian beast modes except for one charcters "apearance" (dont want to spoil anything).  but characters like Magmatron, and his Preds all were vehicles..so the wierd name announcing thing in the begining of BW is still wierd and awkward

It's similar to War Within, were the Cybertronian modes look very similar to the later Earth-modes, but are still different. Same with these Beast-Wars Pre-Earth forms, who look similar to their later Beast-modes, but still transform into cybertronian vehicles.

Well I'm sure a couple of Maximals/Predacons just used beast modes because they saw some G1ers had them and thought "Hey, that looks usefull".

Looks like Grimlock shows up next issue.  I wonder why he chooses a raptor instead of an awesome T-Rex

Well, he later becomes a T.rex again (calling himself T-Wrecks). Maybe the raptor is more enery efficient?

That makes absolutley no sense whatso ever. If they're names were all already Rattrap, Rhinox etc. Why the hell did they introduce themselves to each other. Its well known that they chose new names on earth, except Primal and Megs.

Also, if you look closely at the character's "appearance" that I think your referring to you'll see treads, he has a vehicle mode.... either a triple changer or simply a "beast-like" vehilce mode a la E.Sharkticon.

The name announcing thing is awkward, not weird, somewhat needed for the start of a new show.
