yeah I know what the word means, it comes from the word "fanatic".

Which is how I would describe someone who would pay $175 for a role-playing toy.

not for me.

$ 175 eh...

I wonder if it will be the Prime version or the Magnus version

Anyway, I'm with Madhammer on this one. No way I'll pay $ 175 for this (actually, make it around $ 225 with shipping and import taxes). But the same goes for the Prime head. I like TF's, but they got to transform for them to be of interest to me. A matrix just doesn't interest me. Not even if he was $ 17.50, let alone $ 175.

What's the "playvalue" of this? What should I do with it? A TF you can actually transform, pose or even kitbash or repaint. But a replica of the matrix...? Nah.

*waits for first fan picture w/ them holding the matrix Rodimus Prime-style*

I understand people not thinking it's worth it.

But for me, spending $175 on something I'd always wanted is less of a waste than spending even a cent on Transformers I don't like just to complete a series collection or to keep in a box and never see again.

Seriously, this is something somebody always wanted? I'm really asking. It just never occurred to me that Hasbro or whoever should make a matrix toy.

However, if it played "The Touch" when you opened it, its coolness factor would go up by 1000%.

I would have liked one as a kid, but now... meh.

Yep.

This is the Transformers equivalent of the cane from the old Wolfman movies, one of the swords from Lord of the Rings, a Harry Potter time turner, a Star Wars Lightsaber, Mr Pointy from Buffy, a Ternminator arm in jar, the pendant from the Neverending Story, the key to One Eyed Willie from Goonies et al.

Just a decent prop based display piece.

except that the matrix should be like five feet across to be in scale :tflaugh

oh well, each to his own

P.S. 8000

*does not take bait :tflaugh*

anyway, i think that once you see the amount of detail, take into account that it's made of metal, even if it's not your thing, it's still worth a pretty penny..
