Hi. The topic title is very black and white, I know, but that was used to help grab some attention. Seriously, almost everytime I see people post about G1 Optimus it`s usually something negative. They are always comparing him to other leaders. Like, he didn`t do this or that, or he couldn`t do this or that, or wasnt`as good as.....(fill in the blank). Why do so many of you dislike him? So I guess what I`m after are your opinions of Optimus. Whether you love him or hate him please explain. Even if your in the middle of the road.

 

Personally I really liked G1 Optimus. To me he was the ultimate good guy. He was always striving for peace and the greater good. He had a real fatherly way about him too. Now I know bad guys are really fun to watch but in the end no one really wants to see someone else get hurt unless your f`d in the head or something or you really hate Wheelie :tflaugh J/K. Anyway, I liked how he cared about everyone, all life, human or alien and was always there to try to help you out as best as he could by giving you the shirt off his back. He would also give you the benefit of the doubt where as others might have been suspicious or judged you too quickly. But, if you tried to hurt him or the innocent he would be there to kick the Blot out of you!  I might have missed some things but this all goes back from what I can remember and is my opinion.

Done to death, but it's inevitable that there's going to be a religion set around him because of all the Optimus Prime worshippers out there. On that reason alone I hate him.

Kinda silly topic and the question has been asked many times.  G1 Op. Prime is fine, he's a great toy, an alright character and so well remembered amongest the fans that his name is akin to some ancient legend.  Prime is Prime, that's all there is to it.

Best Autobot leader IMO.  I mostly like decepticons but I will always like G1 Optimus.

Sorry if this topic has been done to death but you can tell by my number of posts and lack of living on this board from day to day plus not being able to find an answer to my question in the search engine I can`t help myself.

 

I should have guessed by your name alone your not a big fan of him or if my calculations are correct, any autobots. j/k :tftongue

hummm i thoght most people like G1 prime every time thiers a new show we compare the new prime to the old most of the time its cool but not as cool and in the case of energon wtf.

 

G1 to me is the bench mark of autobot leader and to me hes still not been betten primal was a close 2nd with GF in 3rd

 

also his shape (in the cartoon) was that of your classic hero and no kibble bar the smoke stacks and they just looked cool his face was sorta like a knight/ smauri

 

tho his death in headmasters was weak and it just seemed like takara wanted to get prime out of the way to let roddie have a go again
