my first time transforming skids was soo much fun!

I think he is the Easiest (not to be confused with simple) Alt. to transform.

 

Each step was like a little discovery.

 

When the hood folded forward (not once but TWICE) i let out a gasp and a "Wow"!

 

i was also able to transform him back to car mode very easily!!

 

He is up there with Live Convoy and C-Redalert for me as my fave Transformers of 2005 (and possibly of all time)

Well I checked every Wal-Mart in MO, but there haven't been any Alts shipped to the midwest for at least 6 months now, and I don't expect that trend to change any time soon.  When is BBTS gonna ship these Protectobots?

I went to one Wal-Mart today and found nothing but chaos and bare shelves. I went to a different one later in the day, and I found Sunstreaker and Skids. They also had Prowl and Tracks, but I've already got those from the previous waves.

 

Sunstreaker is a nice toy, but doors don't open very well in car mode. I do like what Hasbro did with the color scheme, especially in robot mode. The areas of red provide a nice break from the yellow.

 

Now, as an actual automobile, the Scion xB is very offensive, but as a Transformer alt-mode, it's just fine. I don't mind it at all. Add to that the fact that Skids is a suprisingly well made toy, and you have a great looking Alternator. While I did expect the hood chest to be bulky, it actually is not. I also like the red painted arms and the head sculpt. Now, some might not like the flame decoration, but I do. You have to think of this in the same way as Smokescreen. He does have the same basic colors as the G1 version, but it is it's own color. If you like the G1 stripes, buy the BT, but there's nothing wrong with Alt. Skids' color scheme.

 

 

I'm in Illinois, by the way.  Wal-Mart does seem to be the best place to look for these.  I wouldn't count on Toys R Us or Target to have them yet.
