Whats better

so I got the cybertron thunderslasher or whatever her name is yesterday, and it seems like she is esentially a gi joe figure with a boat on her back (call her swamp recon baroness if you like)

the last couple primes have felt neccessary to use the trailer parts to make a supah mode (remember "pants prime")

does anyone else long for the days when a tf had a bunch of extra parts that came off in when you transformed him, leaving a cleaner robot

or

do you curse the fact that peices to complete an metroplex cost 10 bucks a pop?

I don't mind bots like Thunderclash so much, as long as they make it look decent. They aren't the ones I would consider "best" among a line. That doesn't mean they don't have style. Truthfully, I dislike removable parts even more. There's nothing worse, to me, then parts that set around waiting to get lost or get in the way on my shelves. I'd rather everything stay connected if possible.

i dont mind most kibble and most of the time i think it adds character to the robots but i hate it when the alt mode is just hanging off the back

I like Chromiaslasher, but you are right its essentially a microman with a backpack, or call it what it is, a shellformer.

I know that everyone loves RID prime and magnus, but I feel that is kinda cop out.  Atleast with GF Prime and Wingsaber they combine fully, and you dont have to take off alot of parts to assemble the bot.  Same thing with A. Prime Overload and Jetfire.

I prefer a combiner not to have to be broken down taken apart and reassembled to form a new bot, that is what the DX sage was all about and this is transformers, not DX.

I like a small amount of kibble. I think part of the alt-mode should be included in the robot mode as much as possible.  Like smithsquared said, it shouldn't be a figure with the whole alt-mode hanging off the back.

However, I do not like it when integration interferes with the robot mode.  We need only to look at RID and onward for examples of TFs with whole front ends for hands and other such monstrosities.  I mean, a weapon hand, like Shockwave's, is fine, but it should not get ridiculous.

It's a boat. Traditionally, boats are hard to create properly without leaving a lot of it attached.

I agree am, they also have a problem with helicopters, but she feels like a copout... mirage was a 100 times better

i asume when they were making chromia they wanted to keep the female lines so the only option was a shell former. they go to a more extreme with her show character having some what bigger cerves to just prove my point i dont think shes better then shock fleet/mirage tho but she is a nice contrast

as for the whole part left over deal RiD primes stuff could form a base as can GF primes left over parts so as long as thiers somthing to do with the left overs i dont mind its the old guys like Overlord that bug me seeing as ive come close to loosing parts in the past
