Does and don'ts of TF storage

I got all my accessories in a fishing tackle box. Lot of adjustable compartments. Good for organizing.

I'm thinking of making tiny weapon racks for the TF weapons one of these days, saves them being tucked into a corner in the display unit.

Tony.

I like the weapons rack idea. To much like hard work for me though!

can't stress enought to keep your tf weapons in plastic baggies.

Oh yes, that is a great one.

I have to go through all mine and label the ones that I am not using. Fortunately, robotmonstertoys.com and wheeljackslab.com both have all the figures pictured w/ their specific weapons, otherwise I would be screwed.

I use TFU.INFO for my weapons, it only works if you have a rough idea of who they go with. It'd be sweet if they added a search option like they do with the figures.

I used to use a cheap toolbox, but that's full of dismantled bots now! I've got all mine stuffed in my G1 DVD tin for now, but I like to get as many loose parts stuck to the figure when they're on display.

Another DO:  If lost for space and have your TF's in their alt modes, be creative.  Place jets and animals on the larger TF's, slip the smaller TF's into a group with the larger TF's behind them and if a jet has large landing gear, then slip some small TF's under the wings.  Also if you have both versions of Energon Megatron, then place the smaller one on top of the larger one in their flight modes.  That saves space.

DON'T pack TF's too close together, if they're on top of a display unit, then be gentle or a TF or two is likely to take a dive.

A question for those who, like me, prefer to keep the packaging to all their TFs.

So I have like 32 or so toys from the Cybertron line.  I like to keep the packaging, but the "bubble/fishbowl" packaging for the Basics and Deluxes take up A LOT of space.  On top of that, the Voyagers', Deluxes' and Leaders' boxes are also oddly shaped and don't store/stack as well as my Alternator boxes.  Even the GF line (I have GF Soundwave) has a slightly weird-shaped box that adds to the annoyance.

I was wondering how the rest of you box-keepers store the packaging to your Cybertron TFs, especially the Basics and Deluxes with the bubble-package...  I currently have them all stashed underneath my other desk (not the one I keep my computer on), but it's getting filled up rather quickly and unnecessarily because of the Basics/Deluxes...

i keep the boxes to my takara tf's and reissues

the worst to stack/store is the RM boxes IMO thier rounded edges are a pain

i put boxes on my lower shelfs in that ever way they fit best i used to put the box behind the toy but it took up a whole lot of room that way. as for basics and dulexes well i track them one upside down ontop of the other that way the card areas and flat against an other box hopfully that way they dont get bent

i have a box for a 24" tv and i just keep them in there. the bubbles i keep in a stack inside the box amongst my other packages.

i break the boxes down so they are flat that way i don't have to worry about the windows getting screwed up or torn out the inner box pieces also are broken down so they lay flat carded figures i just cut the bubble off with a razor blade cause for one i probably never put the figs back on the card all paperwork and cards go into a binder with plastic sleeves and put on a shelf

Yep yep. Those clear ones from Wal*Mart are what I use. Then I print small labels for each space and organize them by series. I did that with minicons too but then forgot which figures got which ones :tard

If you're very creative, you can display the TF's by era.  Takes a fair bit of thought though since many TF's are bigger than their former big counterparts from another line.
