Does and don'ts of TF storage

Recommended Posts

This is a just for fun thing, but then again it might apply to anyone.  Feel free to add any if you have any to add:

1:  DO make sure that you have enough shelf space

2:  DON'T place a shelf over your favourite seat or bed if keeping the collection in the bedroom or the living room - Imagine Unicron in robot mode or God Ginrai in robot mode, maybe both, overhead and there's a viberation that causes them to fall off

3:  DO check that the batteries are still working if that TF hasn't been played with or touched in a while

4:  DON'T let a toddler see your collection, they're likely to play Throw Things Around

5:  DO arrange by size to save space

6:  DON'T place them in haphazard display, especially if you have a cat that has a fondness for giving you a heart attack by weaving in and out of the TF's on the highest shelves - Imagine an MP Prime in robot mode on a high shelf being knocked by a cat, kitty fur rug not long after

7:  DO look after your collection well

8:  DON'T let anyone touch it without your supervision, in fact just don't let them touch it at all if they're just going to be nasty about it

9:  DO check for damage after moving them around, they can break apart after a while of disuse

10:  DON'T brag about being able to transform a 100+ collection in a fast time, chances are you'll just hurt yourself and cause damage to the collection

11:  DO make sure you try new things, you never know if you'll find that a BW Megs looks great next to RID Prime in any mode

12:  DON'T let your collection be used to buy your loyalty and your kindness, heartless people are capable of doing that and will

13:  DO enjoy your collection and not let others get to you about collecting

14:  DON'T place TF's on the floor and move about too much, that snap you hear could very well be a prized TF.

That's all I can think of, any others?

DO make sure you can lock them up if you are leaving for a while and have a house/pet sitter coming over

Small children like transformers, so be sure to by them the playschool ones so they will leave yours alone.  (I have a nephew, he loves my toys)

keep the boxes in a dark and dry place maybe

Wear sunscreen.

Transform one thing everyday that scares you.

Be kind to your TF's knee joints, you’ll miss them when they’re gone.

Read the directions, even if you don’t follow them.

Accept certain inalienable truths, prices will rise, Hasbro will recolor, you too will get old, and when you do you’ll fantasize that when you were young prices were reasonable, Savage was noble and children respected their elders.

But trust me on the sunscreen…

:tflaugh thanks oprah

I like to store my instructions in high quality clear sheet protectors and in a 3 ring binder - sorted by toy line of course. The best thing that Cybertron has going for it is that most of it's instructions are either 8 1/2" X 11" or 17" X 11" :thumb

Edit: CURSE YOU LANDMINE :tfevil

How spooky's that!  :krem

I've just read the first post - and I was gonna say (almost) exactly the same thing!  :eek

I've got loads of Playskool bots. They're not just for kids though, they're for ANYONE who asks to play with [destroy!] your TFs. Kids, girlfriends, mates, parents, siblings, yourself when drunk, psycho axe-murderers, etc can all be kept quiet for 5 minutes with these lil' dudes!  :thumb

Don't leave batteries in the toys for long periods, they will leak and destroy the batery case.

If storing them, use bubble wrap or peanuts, just laying them in a box can cause stress of the plastic.
