I wonder how much they based this colorscheme on the voice Jetfire portrays in the cartoon...I actually prefer this over the original, but I guess that's just me.

What'd ya know? I like it. It's just a shame I'm slowing down TFs to a point where only AWESOME (Mind the caps.) will do. And he's not AWESOME, he's just pretty cool.

I really like it, definitely getting it. At Botcon I thought the picture showed more of a very light gray instead of the tan/beige so that would've looked more like Octane, but he's still very good.

 

Another very thoughtful detail by Hasbro is the change in packaging. With Cybertron they've gone back to differentiating factions with packaging, the purple & con symbol vs. red & bot symbol as well as switching the sides the box art is on. With Skyshadow they went another step and also flipped the orientation of the toy inside the box as well.

its not just you i like this one better too...but i love anything thats got purple in it

It looks really nice,  But I'll need to see his bio before I decide if I'll get him or not.

i like the color on him, im wondering if they could have changed the head alittle to give him that " i m a new character" look.

nice colors, but...um...the GOLD and GRAY kinda doesn't match with the PURPLE and SILVER W/YELLOW highlights BOXART.

Having the name Octane would have been cool... but it's rights issues, and for a non-show character all it amounts to is letters on a box. He's "Octane" to me once he's out of that box. And besides that I love the name Skyshadow too  :thumb

I'm actually rather disappointed.  After seeing all the trouble they went to in remolding Crumplezone along with his repaint, I had hoped we'd at least get a different head for this guy.  That and the colors don't say "Octane" to me.  I was hoping he'd be more of a light gull gray.  I'm glad I held out long enough to see him before buying Jetfire though, because this version is still superior.
