Energon Hot Shot

Zombie Rodimus
in Toys

I just got E Hot Shot through the mail this morning, and I can't shake the feeling that I've had since I first saw him - that he's a homage to one of the first Transformers I ever owned. This TF was from the G2 line, I'm sure. He may have been one of the UK exclusive ones. He was red, and I believe he was intended to squirt water. His arms were poseable but that was about it. Anyone know which toy I'm talking about?

he used to be a homage to Hotrod, but in Energon, his design is a homage to another young G1 bot, which is Bumblebee.

Nah, that's not it... he's got something going in with a G2 guy, I'm sure of it...

Okay, I got it. It may just be my imagination, on reflection, but something about him definitely reminds me of G2 Flash:

The only thing they share are the carback feet, the arms and the head, but that's about it. My best guess is that it's accidental.

I really don't see him having a similarity to anyone

There's a slight resemblance to G1 Getaway... perhaps it's just the head shape and the shoulder-things.
