You can't really say force chips are that pointless either, because they are needed to use certain features on the new bots themselves. Now if there was a backup button that activated these features without the force chips then you could say they were pointless. I would have to go with energon stars since they didn't really do anything, and didn't add to the toys playabilty either.

But those had playabilty for little kids. Heck I remember when I was a kid, damn that was over 20 years ago, that I use to play with my Transformers and used Primes trailer as a base thusly using the hose, nozzle, and fuel pump on other autobots.

I never grew up with G1 but since I'm more knowledgable now than when I was a kid I guess I just see them as silly accessories.

 

BM Jetstorm's little shark missiles are pretty pointless to me.

G1 Onslaught in the Asian release had a spring on their back and the ramp was attached so that either Brawl or G1 Swindle can be launched from them. However, with that said, I have to say my top 10 list would be:

 

1. The Energon Axe that came with MPOP/20th Anniversary Prime (execution was poor.)

 

2. The ramp that came with G1 Silverbolt - unlike Onslaught, there was no place for a spring in the mechanism, and you don't launch planes on a downward ramp :rofl .

 

3. G1 Megatron's chrome gun. No point at all. This guy doesn't need more weapons.

 

4. TM Optimus Primal's Megaphone...er, I mean, hand gun.

 

5. R.I.D. Optimus Prime's Hairdryer...er, I mean, hand gun.

 

6. G1 Optimus Prime's nozzle/hose (I agree with MasterofPuppets on this one.) It's pointless and doesn't really do much.

 

7. Energon Optimus Prime's trailer.

 

8. Armada Optimus Prime's trailer.

 

9. The big cannon for G1 First Aid - especially if he's supposedly a pacifist.
