Do we need Order in the TFU story?

The purpose for an "ORDER" in the Transformers Universe is to explore the evolution of itself through all the pletoria of characters that live in it.

It came to me as an early idea as why do the Transformers have a Multiverse instead of a single Universe. Do you TFans remmember when the BW Megatron shot at Optimus Prime's face in the Mainframe's Beast Wars TV show?, it caused a chronal disruption through the Universe, a temporal rift that reached Cybertron.

So, If that happened 4 millions years ago on Prehistoric Earth, then which characters remained the same and which ones changed?.

The fact for a paralel Universe is to have the same version of a character  evolved in different ways, slightly or significant.

Now if the story is tracked back to one single Genesis, then the multiverse is explained automatically.

If all the existent storylines that comprehend all the TFU could be related to a single and common point, then the story becomes a whole and the origins become explained.

And yes all the old and new Primes do look phisically alike. Convoy=Prime Convoy; God Ginrai=Grand Convoy; Star Convoy=Galaxy Convoy. it's about typhology.

Maybe what the transformers need is a good writer with love for the characters, that knows all the previous backgrounds and come up with some interesting and refreshing story that help to keep the franchise always freshing and looking forward to the next step, and keeping us (all the TFans), waiting for the next Chapter in Transformers History (and not aislated tales).

the problem is that Hasbro can't make up their minds if they want all the new series to be in the same continuity or for there to be a yearly reset. with Hasbro, it's always "Stay with this continuity for a few years and THEN switch over to a new one". since there's no set length for how long the new series will remind in one continuity, it gets confusing at times. myself, i would prefer a standard continuity reset after every series, with each series lasting an average of two years, kind of like what Bandai does with Power Rangers. besides, Hasbro has to keep reusing the "Megatron upgrades to Galvatron" plot point in order to keep the names, a bi-yearly reset would make this more acceptable.

I hope that Galvatron gets Copyrighted(more secere Trade Mark) soon

So do the various Power Ranger shows exist in the same timeline, or do they not even bother with details like that? I remember a Dino Thunder episode where past series were "flashbacked" to, but aside from acknowleging that they existed, there was no attempt to tie them in at all.

Untill Timeforce the Power Rangers had a tight contuity, after that they still existed in the same universe but didn't realy bother with the details

I think they should stay with them until they get stale, or until the story leads itself to a conclusion.

As others have said, the relaunching of Power Rangers every couple of years was still for the most part the same continuity and was actually more like the change from the original G1 to the movie era or to the Masters era etc.

And as both Beast Wars and the War Within (to a lesser degree) have shown, there are ways to keep in the same continuity and deliver something fresh.

Also, the reason there are still so many G1 figures being made, the reason BT continues straight on from the G1 series, that Beast Wars was able to tie into it etc, is because that series lasted way more than a couple of years and as such grew on people far more.

In the end, there are only so many ways that you can re-tell the same story, and all the new beginnings are already stale and uninspired.

I'd personally rather see nothing for 10 years and retain my interest than see 5 whole continuities all based around the same basic story appear and then get cut before they get really interesting in that same time period, and have every last ounce of love for Transformers sucked out of me.

The point is, if the transformers continuity keeps rebooting every certain years, the franchise or whatever that means, will be nothing but lame fodder.

We should let them know that this is not Power Rangers we're talking here, it's about THE TRANSFORMERS  they deserve some "respect".

Just like the STARWARS movies, novels, comic books, etc. the idea is to show some coherent evolution and development in the TF's history, you can't go to point "C" without having passed through point "B".

My idea to bring on all the stories into a whole, is to re-adapt all the stories, keeping all the same toys/characters designs, and start from scratch but keeping in mind all the important and relevant tales that had happened in almost 21 years. Like the way it was done in the MACROSS Anniversary movie.

No more lame and confusing stories, bring on the cool writing guys!

:tflaugh  :tfgrin

has anyone here actually watched the last couple of transformer series, do you really want that crap linked to g1? i mean a lot of the old stuff (classic filler episodes like autobot spike)  sucked too, but rid armada and cybertron are just garbage.

I hate rebooted story lines.

I wish it was something like this:

- G1

(if necessary the japanese stories could perhaps be fitted in.)

- G2

- Armada: minicons are former micromasters, TF's are now established on earth, etc... Wheeljack had a fight with Prime, feels neglected and joins the deceps to continue his mad weapons research.

- Energon

- Cybertron: final and utter solution to the Primus-Unicron fight.

- RiD: with the destruction of most of the Decepticon leaders the end of the Autobot Decepticon wars are near; megatron is BM megs who had travelled to the end of the A-D war in hope to influence it & the preds were leftover BW stasis pods. Of course Megatron fails and the A-D war is over (EDIT: I acutally once started a fanfic that was based on exactly these ideas).

- 300 years of peace

- BW (which, of course, only starts and end here, rest is before/during G1)

- BM

- Transtech & further...

Ah well, I can always do this for myself. Ignore all the official stories after BM anyway.

(It also works kind of nicely with the way Prime looks in altmode: his last G2 and his Armada truck is kind of similar, and both in Cybertron and in RiD he's a fire truck.)
