What scale are G.I. Joe vehicles?

Question:

What scale are G.I. Joe vehicles for the 3 1/2" figures? Those things are begging to be kitbash-fodder!  :thumb

I dunno..but does a 3 3/4 Joe fit in an Alt? That might be a way to gauge scale. Not a great way though.

I saw some WWII figures at Walmart the other day. Their packaging said they were 1:18 scale holding them next to the GI Joes I reallized that the Joes were also 1:18 scale. So I`d guess their vehicles are 1:18 scale. Which really stinks since many of the Joe`s and Cobra`s vehicles really would make great Autobots and Decepticons. They couldn`t be in scale with the Alts but I`m surprised that Hasbro hasn`t cashed in on that larger scale and made the Alts on 1:18 scale. Infact I`m puzzled as to why we don`t have an Alt Devastator since Hasbro owns Tonka. But really crossing the GI Joe and Transformer lines would just make so much sence.

Presuming that a GI Joe figure is 6 ft tall:

12" Joes are 1 : 6

8" Joes (Sigma 6) are 1 : 9

3 3/4" Joes are 1 : 19.2

(1 : 18 vehicles would be slightly oversized)

and the 1 : 24 BT/Alts would have 3" tall figures

Yeah too bad that the old target masters, head masters, and power masters are only 2" tall.

I tried a Gi-Joe riding Energon Arcee, and looks a bit oversized. At least looks better than a Gi-Joe with an Alternator.

Yes, the G.I Joe line is 1/18th scale. Says that on all the boxes.

And I've said it before and I'll say it again: Halo and Halo 2 Mini figures. I can't recall who pointed me back in that direction but those little buggers fit good enough into the Alts/BTs. Just need to pop their legs on and off and you're good to go. :thumb

Now, if only there were other figures that weren't so "armour clad" we could use as "regular" human characters... :schin ... anybody know if there are any out there?

I've had this thought FOREVER about bashing the Armada Megatron KO into the GIJOE vs. Transformers Optimus Prime as a HISS tank.

The body sculpt is almost the same and his treads would support a HISS tank cockpit.

I'm really tempted now after seeing both a HISS and a Megatron KO at FRED'S for under $10.
