Star Wars toys are far more popular than Transformers, but Transformers are a million times better IMO. Anything that attracts more people to the line is a good thing.  :thumb

The SW TF line simply has TF stamped on it to attract Transformers collectors.  :tftongue  I mean, there have also been transforming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Power Rangers.

 

It would have been better if actual Transformers transformed into Star Wars vehicles such as Vector Prime did. But that might turn Star Wars fans off. They do not look all that great in "robot" mode but I might buy one if they are cheap enough.

Kinda like when those Animorphs toys came out a few years ago.  Even if kids didn't know what Animorphs was, they could still see TRANSFORMERS really big on the package and buy it for that reason alone.  I know I did when that crap came out. 

 

 

Back on topic, I'm not surprised at all that these toys don't turn into Transformers characters.  At the very least, I'm glad that they turn into robots that look like their respective pilots, as opposed to looking like humans with wings and lasers hanging off of them that turn into vehicles.  I don't really mind that they aren't using pre-establised TF characters.  They can make up their own for all I care, just as long as the toy looks cool and its fun to play with.

I'll be buying all of 'em. I always display my TFs in robot mode, but these'll be staying in alt mode for sure!

I don't get the fan-boy angst regarding these guys.  If I was a six year old kid that liked both SW and TF, I'd be thrilled.
