The power of the Matrix

Recommended Posts

Learned minds of transformer lore.

I have a problem.

I'm writing a fanfic about the first Transformer revolt against the Quintessons, before Primus joined with Vector Sigma.

Now, the decepticons do all the fighting, and Primus gives the matrix to Primon, but before he does, he gives the dark guardians sentience.

The problem I face is this; Can the Matrix also take life? Because it is said that it can blow apart any transformer, as shown in the transformers comic "Prime Time".

I'm rather stuck with this. Why would the Transformers lose so many forces when you can use a bauble to wipe out the minds of your enemies?

I don`t think it can take life since in TFTM  i am gaywhen Rodimus Prime opened the Matrix it blew Unicron up but he was still a menace for a long time afterwards. The name isn`t Primon it`s Prima. Also Primus isn`t dead he is in planetary stasis. Now as far as I know there isn`t any really indepth true back story in the lore however there have been many fanfics depicting what might have happened long ago in the Transformers past. One such story is Transformers Generations over on thetransmatrix.clicdev.com . It is a story that I wrote in conjuction with my friend masterminicon over here who calls himself Professor Wheeljack over there. We delved as far into the past as we could even all the way back to before Primus had the Vector Sygma and created the Original Thirteen we also told the story of what we think happened to many of the Original Thirteen. Also we firgure that some of the original 13 are the Convoys in the GF cartoon so you`ll recognize some of the names. It`s a little bit long but I think you should find alot of what you`re looking for in the story.

Well according to the 'new age lore' by Furman the Matrix has the power to control time and space. It opens doors that many techno-religious baubles are unable to do so I'd imagine that the Matrix can in some part weild deadly force. If used in the 'right' hands it could be formidable weapon.

IF the Matrix were to come into contact with two unalike beings it might have some sort of inverse reaction, Hot Rod and Galvatron's struggle with it caused it to activate in Hot Rod's favor, now considering that, I'd imagine that if two forces fought over the Matrix (tug a war theory) that it could break and literally burn out all sparks in the imediate area.

I'm rather stuck with this. Why would the Transformers lose so many forces when you can use a bauble to wipe out the minds of your enemies?

Perhaps they consider it immoral, or don't realize they had that power?  or maybe they weren't sure they could control it and were afraid of accidentally committing suicide?

:wtf

I also think that they would consider it to be immoral. Furthermore, in the comics Prime was reluctant to use the power of the matrix. Agreed, he only had it for a very short while after it was decided that it was a solid object and not a program. However, in the G2 comics Prime didn't use the power of the matrix like that. He preferred to have himself killed.

He also said something against Megatron about difference of perspection. To Megatron the matrix was power, a weapon to create and kill, while the Primes thought of the matrix as part of them, something with which they lived in symbiosis. A similar sentiment was expressed when Prime and Thunderwing fought over the Matrix.

The matrix can be used to kill (as Thunderwing demonstrated), but it's against everything Primus and the Primes stand for. It is highly dubious that a Prime would do this and could, because it would mean tainting the purity of the matrix and the matrix might not cooperate.
