Theorey on SS's giant-ness

Recommended Posts

Whilest watching that new Cybertron ep. and the some GF, I think I know why Starscream becomes a giant. Okay, we all know it's because of the Omega lock and the CPKs, but why did they have that effect on him? Case and point, the three keys added together make up for the fourth one. By getting the Animatros, Veloictron and Earth keys, they gave him the power of the last planet, Gigalonia. If instead, we had the Gigalonia key and were missing... Velocitron's, then Starscream would insted have an increbile boost of speed, maybe to the point of creating black holes? Or he would be much stronger if they were missing Animatros' key. I don't know what effect the Earth key's abscence would have, maybe an intelligence boost or something?

Well in Galaxy Force, he is absorbing Primus's spark, which apparently was divided and stored in the various planet forces. So he effectively was becoming a god I believe.

It's an interesting idea, but really, SS only became so large because japanese culture takes size synonymous to power, and power is the ultimate goal in their philosophy. Just look at DBZ and similar series, like Superlink, with their endless power-up sequences. The hero is always the one who is most powerful, so in literature, they put heavy emphazis on that. You don't even have to be a good, or smart person. Power is all that really matters.

In contrast, in western society, it's not power in itself that makes a Hero, but the right use of that power. In our culture, we care more about the moral code of the person, than on how much ton they can lift, or how agile they are.

:roll

um, the reason why Starscream becomes a giant is because Gonzo wanted to work Hasbro's supreme-size Screamer into the show.

i have a theory of my own: Hasbro probably originally intended supreme Screamer to lead the decepticons in the first few episodes of the series(hence the crown), then Megatron would return and retake leadership from Starscream. it would have been like when E-Scorpinok lead the cons in Energon before Megatron was revived. the reason this concept was dropped was probably because Gonzo wanted to do a reset rather than a continuity. also, i think that GF mega-size Screamer might be the resault of Takara down-scalling supreme Screamer for economic reasons and that the only reason why mega-Screamer was released first might be because Hasbro delayed Cybertron to make room for their ROTS toyline.

I've always thought that since hasbro included the Earth Cyber PLANET key with him, that he activitated not only his

Cybertron Cyber Key but also the Earth Cyber PLANET key into his systems which made him bigger because so much power was pulsing through his systems

Hornet, whenever someone makes a thread like this, it's usaly about the IN FICTION reasons.

to ssilipino: No.

and one cannot explain why Starscream became big in the fiction without first explaining why there is a mega-size Screamer toy and why there is a supreme Screamer toy. if both the Takara version and the Hasbro version were the same size then there would have been no real need for an incident in the cartoon which caused Screamer to enlarge.

I just want to know

How can a god sized Starscream fit inside of his space ship?

I agree entirely. The toys come first and the fiction comes later in TF/GIJoe land. This leads to unfortunate story choices but is undeniably true. Trying to analyze round story concepts by beating them into square plotholes fixes nothing. Buy your awesome toys. Enjoy your crap-ass fiction. Don't try to gleen continuity sense from some marketing exec's inkling.

PS This was more a response to the action than to the thread itself.
