Underappreciated figures

Recommended Posts

Basically just canvassing what people thing is a great design yet often seems to get overlooked with all the other hot figures out there (20th Prime is the obvious choice)

For me I think these are often overlooked

Armada Supercon Prime is a nice little figure with a simple yet effective transformation method, looks especially nice in the Japanese clear version.

Armada Jetfire - he has a pretty authentic looking alt mode and considering he was designed to be a pair of legs for the big Armada Prime his robot mode is quite credible and is not that disproportional (yeah his legs are a bit big for his normal robot mode but its pretty good IMO)

RID Optimus Prime - not much to say on this one other than the fact that it rocks and kudos has to be heaped upon its shoulders some more with its immenent re-release in Cybertron

So list 3 figures that you think are really hot yet are somehow malaigned and not always appreciated the way others are ;)

I can only think of one off the top of my head:

A-Hotshot

really nice little guy.  Has a childlike palyfulness that borders on childish -but still maintains some charm.

He, Megatron and mini-prime are the only Armada guys i still have on display

For me it's slugfest and overkill of the cassettes in GeeWun.  They weren't in any series that I know of and neither in the comics. :tfsad

Call of the primitives'd.

Binaltech Swindle. I never hear anyone give this guy props but he is one of my favorite toys. He may not look like classic Swindle, but he looks like a classic Decepticon.

G1 Sixshot. The playability on him alone makes him one of the best geewuners. Six alt modes and he is huge.  Most of the attention, however, is usually given to others from the line.

Energon Wing Saber. He is a brick, yes, but the best looking brick I have ever seen.

Hmmmm.......I think BT/Alt Windcharger...he gets ripped, however I think he is great!  I also agree that swindle is good too and gets no days in the sun

Rail Racer from RID....they are sweet toys and a good combiner...

THe autobot brothers from RID....Basically I think the whole RID line was great and most do not....

These are on my most overrated figure list - especially for RID Optimus Prime.

For me, I have to agree with Alt Swindle - it's a remold of a great figure, only improved.

G1 Shockwave is also an underrated figure. Clean transformation, minimal kibble, and a great figure overall.

G1 Doubledealer is also very underrated. Great transformation, great alt modes, and very cool gimmicks.

These figures are probably obvious choices for me, but not for many other people, so here goes:

BM Battle Unicorn Despite having the gheyest name in existence, he's a fantastic little basic with a great color scheme. A really nice mixture of dark gray/black and brighter colors like blue, orange and red. Great articulation for a basic as well.

BM Skydive I really like the sculpt and paint apps on this figure a lot. There's so much detail and it's so well done. Skydive is, to me, the beastformer equivalent of the best mechanical TFs from RiD.  A very sleek design.

BM Snarl I absolutely love his color scheme. Again, it's mostly gold and silver, but with some bright splashes of orange and blue. There's a lot of really nice detailing on him that's got an almost art deco quality to it. He's a very elegantly designed and executed figure IMO.

Honorable mention goes to BWR Megatron Megabolt and RiD Wedge.
