Oh it's Alternator Sunstreaker & Prowl

Recommended Posts

So I actually have something resembling a digital camera built into my phone.  I'm starting with pictures of my Sunstreaker in alt form and I may get the nerve to transform him again at some point and post pix of that.  Sorry for the Blotty quality, but you get the idea, and let's face it, it's just another Sunstreaker.  I did some mold modifications like filling in some of the vents on the hood and removing the rear wing, though the bondo on the rear apparently wasn't 100% dry and has since become slighty noticeable.  I didn't want just a yellow Dead End.  I was going for a tasteful tuner car, like a Hennessey Viper or something -- you'll notice the dark shading all around the headlights and the gunmetal mesh wheels with polished lip.  Interior details have been changed from silver to gunmetal as well.  Yellow paint was standard Krylon Sun Yellow Gloss over a white Fusion base and while you can't really tell due to lighting with the phone, the shade is spot on.  You can't really tell in the pictures, but the spray job is perfect.

Upcoming at some point will be Prowl, Red alert, and Bluestreak.  It's not the easiest thing to post pix because I have to email them to myself and for some reason my apartment is a near dead spot for Verizon.

One last picture.

That looks sweet without the wing...really sweet!

C'mon Grow A set And Transform Him.  :tftongue :tflaugh

Really, Nice Job Removing The Rear Wing. :thumb

:tfdance

I also like the lack of wing. If you don't want to add the racing stripes, you could just paint the hood and roof scopes black.

Thanks guys!

I really don't like racing stripes in most cases so it was never my intention to reapply them or anything resembling them.  I wanted this car to look clean.  :)  I'm a little disappointed in the way the bondo shrunk, but that's my own fault.  Yeah, I'm a real car guy so I use bondo instead of putty like you guys do.  I might go back and redo it, and mold the top deck of the rear hatch into the actual rear.  In fact, I kinda wish I had also deleted the roof scoop and the hood pins so I just may get bored and redo all of that.

Alright, here's another crappy picture of him ...

The silver highlights are gunmetal, keeping with my theme.  And yes, I do need a faction symbol for his chest.  It's hard to tell the quality of the job, but I'm very hardcore about covering everything and making it look like it's factory.  In fact, my reservation about transforming him was because a few girl friends of mine got ahold of him and my other alts when I wasn't around and started transforming them all ... and they had no idea he was painted.  You can imagine he didn't hold up perfectly.

And Prowl from the Sunstreaker mold ...

I didn't go with white hands because of chipping and because the black hands make him look more rugged.  Doors, hood, top, and trunk hatches are white, the rest is black ... molded after my local cops in Chapel Hill.

I think the amount of black on the front also makes him look a little more rugged.  Also, painted the backs of the fog lights for wig-wag action.  I made a light bar for the top, but it kinda sucks.

Spoiler was also deleted and filled on this guy ... gunmetal wheels give him a little darker, tougher look.

Obivously I take these guys completely apart when I paint them.  I think I'm going to paint the gold badge on his crown like he has in the WW series.  I'd also like a push bar ... and a printer so I can make some decals. :)

Sucks that you can't tell just how good I am at spraying ;) :P
