Hasbro Panel Report - New Series Proposed

Recommended Posts

Ehh ... I dunno if this is going to happen.  Is there going to be enough time between the end of Cybertron and the beginning of movie promotion to warrant another line?  I'd anticipate it being quite underdeveloped.

Well the movie does not come out untill July 2007 so they could get two more lines out by that time.

End of Cybertron is late winter 2006. that's only abotu six months for the G1 revisited line.

- Hasbro is definately looking into bringing production on the animated shows back to North America, because TAKARA IS TAKING A BREAK FROM TRANSFORMERS FOR A WHILE. Whoa.

:clap Finally a break from akwardly dubbed dialogue, a break from calling out transforms and attacks, and no more STOCK transforming animation that takes up 10 MINUTES of an episode! Oh, and no more GOTTA CATCH EM ALL plots! :clap

I'm actually looking forward to the beast Minicons.

megatron as a gun? grrrrrr...... i'm all for nestalga, but i didn't believe it when i was 5 and i ain't buy'n it now,.....but i will buy the toys just the same. hopefully they'll rethink the idea and give megs a worth while alt mode......like a huge gun that can move buy itslef and doesn't need to be held......like a TANK!

Best news IMO. :thumb

Now if only they would shelve the God awful CGI.  :roll

Biggest news for me:

"- Hasbro didn´t know that TRU never distributed the G1 Sideswipe reissue in the US until recently. They´re going to look into what happened there and maybe the feasibility of adding it to Hasbro Toy Shop."

Um... duh. I hope they get that done. Damn TRU. :tfmad

Hmmm....interesting possibility.  However, I don't see why they'd bother to run a 'filler line' for the 5-6 month gap between the end of Cybertron and the Movie.  Doesn't seem like it would be worth it IMO.

Unless it leads INTO the Movie......

Doubtful.  The show and toyline could still run alongside the movie and it's toyline if successful enough.

because there are over 60 episodes (just using G1 seasons 1 & 2) ready to air on TV in  2007. And because Tatsunoko Productions has been chomping at the bit to do a G1 project since Takara bought them earlier this year, so they could easily get a second set of 50 some episodes ready to air in the US & Japan in 2008. If they go that direction.

No way they use old G1 episodes.

And an hour ago there was no way they'd make Megs a gun either.  :tftongue

This is a PROPOSAL.  Don't forget that.  Hasbro won't use a 20 year old show to sell a new line of toys.

They could always call it Generation 3.  :tflaugh
