Not wholly unexpected, since the Joe fanbase is undoubtedly much higher.

Well I didn't notice anyone with TFan nametags or anything, but if anyone saw a large bloke with a brown fedora hat and a blonde 7 year old (he's 5 but every thinks he's 7) boy in tow there this morning, that was us.

 

primusq001- Did you see that stack of MP02 Magnuses? Dang I wanted one of those. Settled for buying my boy a Cosmos he deperately wanted. I saw the Defenor Jr and Superion Jr KO's and they didn't have prices- the lady watching the booth said the bloke that runs it was in the big Hasbro to-do at the moment and hadn't marked it all yet. When I came back they were both gone.

Hm.. low points? Not the exclusives. They kinda rock.

Its funny, everyone else on the net keeps bashing the insecticon clones. However having them in your hand is another story. They are pretty cool, and a neat addition. There hasnt been anyone here that has bashed them, and most people like them fairly well. I really think its just a case of its easier to bash something you just have in pictures, but having them all lined up, the entire set of 12 exclusives... it really is impressive.

 

I havent really enjoyed an exclusive set like this since Tigatron/Arcee and Cyclonus/Catscan/Glyph/Tapout.

 

Oh yeah, and Ben Yee wrote the comic.  :)

 

 

primusq001, it was really good to meet you and all. Shame you had to head back today.. you seemed like a pretty cool guy.  This con was a bit smaller than any of the ones in this century, but I hope you had fun at it. I think most of here did.

Primus I saw you, but didn't realize who you were.  Wish I would have had the chance to say hi.  Had a chance to meet Marcus on Friday night.  As nice a guy as they come from what I was able to tell in the short time we spoke.

 

As for downsides...the onlything major that got me was that the didn't have the dealer room closed off from the panel room.  This was both good and bad, but the bad outweighed the good.  The good, you could walk between the two in one snap of a hat.  But the bad, during the panels all the noise from the dealer room overwhelmed the speakers and the question and answer sessions.

 

Outside of that, Master Collector did a great job and I am in total agreement with Marcus on this one.  In person the set is amazing and too many people are crabbing about it unneccesarily.  First thing you hear when Ramble protos are shown..."Ooooh, now I can troop build."  First thing you hear when alternate colors of Buzzclaw are shown, "WTF?  Troop building is crappy GI Joe stuff." Meh.

 

Mastercollector also guarenteed that these sets would not be discounted in any way....which is GREAT news.  That means our sets won't be devalued.
