Dreadwind

Recommended Posts

Vacation is finished and so, finally, is this repaint.

Sad things is...with the end in sight, I actually regretted doing it. For two reasons:

1. This was going to be an entry for my own army of Robotmasters. But no more. I'll probably make another Dreadwind (out of RM:Smokesniper) some time in the future. Waste of a mold thus.

2. I've used Machine Wars Thundercracker for this, but recently found out that there was a better choice: RiD Skyfire. That one is already so close in colors (even closer because the upper arms/legs are purple instead of...well, whatever color this is exactly).

Nevertheless, I present to you (RM) Dreadwind. Made from a Machine Wars Thundercracker with, besides paint, the following mods: I used some small pieces of Polysterene to fill up his lower arms (making them slightly rounder), gave the barrel of his gun a handle so he now has two guns (like G-1 Dreadwind) which can be combined into one bigger gun (sort of like G1 Dreadwind) and gave him a new face.

I like it!

I have the original powermaster one, and this one beats that IMO. I like the use of colors! I would definitely pick this one up if I saw it on the shelves.  :thumb

Isn't the jet mode the same as G1 dreadwind? It looks the same in your pic...

Thanks for the positive comment. But no they're not the same kind of jet. G1 Dreadwind is an F16 and this is...uh, well another kind of jet (according to BWTF it's a Dassault Rafael jet fighter). But they're pretty close, which is why I went for this mold in the first place.

As far as the colors are concerned, I tried to emulate a real life jet: gray on top, with blue on the underside, while at the same honoring G-1 Dreadwind.

Either way, I really like it. Good job!

If you ever want to sell him, let me know. I'll take him off your hands.
