New BT Autobots with simple head swaps

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

After an initial disappointment with my 2 BT prowls I decided that I was going to set to swapping a few heads around in order to make some of the figures a bit closer to their G1 counterparts. This I managed to achieve without desecrating a single BT, just a spare alt silverstreak, smokescreen and sideswipe.  And so, from the photos below you can see the results. The hybrids are:

Alt streak body (painted) + BT prowl head = PROWL

BT prowl (patrol) body + custom smokescreen head = STREETWISE

BT meister (red) body + BT overdrive head = OVERDRIVE

BT overdrive body + alt sideswipe head (painted) = BLASTER

BT prowl (blue) body + BT meister (red) head = NIGHTBEAT

Alt sideswipe body (painted) + alt streak head = RED alert

So what do you guys think? If anyone is intending to do any head swapping the ones to watch out for are prowls body and sideswipes head. Prowls neck ball joint is hard to fit other heads onto and sideswipes head needs shaving down where the socket is to fit most other bodies. The BT prowl body and head still allows no head tilting though. I intend to replace the prowl body and red alert head with BTA1 ‘alert’ parts when he arrives, as well as the alt sideswipe head on blaster with the head from BTA3 ‘Broadblast’. Plan for his body is to attach a different head and make him either ‘camshaft’ or ‘broadside’ – I think broadside may be better. Or in fact maybe one of the dinobots due to the grey body.

I still haven’t come up with an idea for my yellow tracks that doesn’t involve ruining the BT in any way. (i.e. chopping, painting) Originally I wanted to paint parts grey and make him triggerbot ‘backstreet’,but now I’m warming to the idea of using an alt ravage head and turning him into steeljaw.’ Anyway, I don’t like having un-named bots on the shelf so I’m glad that I’ve managed to gain 3 more G1 bots, namely streetwise, blaster and nightbeat (I already had the subaru prowl and viper alert customs with their own heads) with a bit of simple head swapping.

LMOA noooooooooooo someone beat me to posting the zoom/zoom overdrive headswap that i did after i posted the digi bashes a couple of months ago. doh well my fault for being lazy, there good though, not sure about the streetwise head though, im gona use side swipes cranium for mine, btw overdrive looks really good if you paint the lower legs red and upper legs silver, and the arms silver and black  :thumb

blaster looks suprisingly good, alert and overdrive look cool too

Only prob with blaster is the head is way up off the shoulders so at certain angles he has a long thin neck. The alert head was only an afterthought but I quite like it as the sideswipe ehad doesn't look as similar to G1 red alerts toy/cartoon head as this one does. (it makes a good cliffjumper on red meisters body also) The streetwise head was originally all white like G1 but it looked way too bland so I added the colour. Not sure if I like it yet. (reminds me of jetfire a bit) The lambor head wont fit on BT prowls body without modification as the neck isn't long enough BTW.
