And most of the fandom approved of the removal of Hallit from the Convention and Club and praised the coming of MC, knowing full well that the prices WOULD be changing and that the days of 'reasonable prices for exclusives' were over, the fandom now seems to be calling for MC to lose the license as well because they're first exclusive set 'sucks' and is a 'disappointment' because it's a 7-figure box set, not individually available and their screwing of the 'international fans' by not having a convention in Europe.

 

Depressing......

 

But I'll agree with you there.  A large marjority seem to agree that this set 'sucks', something that is a rarity in this fandom.

I'm not normally a ranter, and the set is actually decent IF it was not worth $265. I kinda wished they used the creative team of 3H, since although those guys had lousy business skills, at least they gave the fans what they wanted, and the prices of their Botcon figures are not restrictive enough that it would really only cater to those who joined the membership, which would only be less than 10% of the international fandom.

Which is something that didn't work and resulted in the company going under.  Radical changes were needed to allow a Convention and Club to continue.  3H was taking losses and the last couple years SHOWED it by not having stuff at the Convention for the registrants.  So far, MC has delivered all Club magazines promised with membership, as well as the free toy.

 

BTW, everyone needs to remember that there is an advisory board of respected fans working with MC.  People like the Hartmans and Ben Yee.  I'm not going to say you need to be all happy and nice, but remember who is working with MC on the exclusives before you just say "MC sucks!", because they're getting help from people that have been well respected for years.

Looks like though one of those respected members would have caught the whole Chromia and Moonracer screwup. I mean the figures are nice I'm getting a set and a bagged set, but do I believe they are to expensive...heck yeah. For the price I paid for the figures and not attending and not getting in on the pannels and such, MC could have supplied the rest of the toys their offering at the convention to make up for the extra cash I shelled out compared to those who get the full experience.

does hasbro even have the right to "Moonracer" any more?  If they don't would you have prefered them come up with new name instead of securing chromia?

$265 right now is WAY too much, maybe down the line, oh well, it looks good though and I like it, just hate botcon for ripping people off, that's all.
