Powermaster Optimus Prime/Ginrai

Recommended Posts

I broke out my Japanese Powermaster Prime w/ Apex armor.  I still can't get over how ridiculously huge his head is in Super Mode.  It's bigger than the Masterpiece Prime head.  If the head was smaller, it would be a lot more proportional.

Does anyone have a link to a picture of the recent Powermaster Prime with the modified Apex Armor?  It's the one with the smaller head, longer feet and longer wings.  There used to be one at Big Bad Toystore but I can't find it anymore.  The modified Apex Armor looked really cool.  The original head is just too big. :tdown

i'll take it off your hands if you want :P

Yeah I saw that too, but when I purchased mine, it was actually more expensive than the actual fig. I thought screw this and went with my big headed ginrai!

Ask and ye shall receive.

That set is horrible.  Not only are the pieces undetailed, so the don't even look right attached, they don't attach.  There's no pegs or anything.  You'll have to add some pegs yourself, or otherwise just tape them to the figure.  Not to mention that they're also not the cleanest of castings, you have to do a fair bit of flash trimming yourself.  It's pure garbage.

And back to the original question, the answer is simple: because it's G1.  Most figures from that era didn't pay the greatest of attention to proportions, and had all sorts of oversize/undersize/just not quite right parts.

There's no other G1 figure with that big of a head. :tflaugh

I'd just like to find a good replacement head.

Thanks for the link Master of Puppets.  I appreciate it. :thumb

Well, you know what they say about bots with big heads... :lol
