cool

I am so excited over this=D this is a dream come true

so what would the legalities be in getting a Hasbro/Nimoy version?

I mean i know the Hasbro reissues are done - but i am asking IF hasbro DID release this guy - would they be able to just plug in Nimoy voices? or would they have to ask/pay for them?

Would they have to use soem generic?  Welker?

Good question... sadly moot, but still a good question. I guess it comes down to who owns the sound recordings, and if there's some royalties necessary for any voice actors.... I do know that they can't put the old TF commercials on the DVDs without paying royalties to the child actors who appeared in them (teh true), so maybe the same would apply.

i cant beleive how whiney everyone is since mp01 came out.

"lets compare everything to masterpeice prime! even toys that were made

20 friggen years ago!!"

so if it isnt masterpiece you people are just not interested anymore? i think youve forgotten why you started collecting tfs in the first place.

i for one wouldv bought him if they didnt make him show accurate. but since they did its even better. no price is to high. unless we're talking lucky draws on ebay.

Well, personally, I only started collecting Transformers because of Alternators and MP Optimus Prime.  I realized that I don't care for G1 toys at all.  I realized this after being able to get some reissues real cheap, but having absolutely no desire to buy them. I never had very many TFs as a kid, and I never wanted every single one in the first place.

The only reissues that I would ever buy without question are Dinobots, in original colors or cartoon color schemes if they decided to do that.  Other than that, I just have no interest in G1 toys.

Nearly exactly like I do : Binaltechs and Masterpiece :tflaugh

Wow that is so cool that there reissuing him like this. Only bad part is now I have to buy him (wasn't plaining as I already have a mint one and one I painted in G1 colors, which I might add I do like mine better, but it doesn't transform :tdown ). I will be gitting this but on that note I really hope they fix the colors more as they are still not toon accurate. It really sucks that they put that movie pix next to him as they show how wrong his is. The knee caps should be red. The thighs should be grey. The mid arm should be grey. His neck should be grey (his body just looks better poportioned like this and its toon accurate). The wheels should be black and grey. Still though this is bad ass and I can't wait to get a more accuate G1 (transformable) Galvatron. Also as they don't show side pics I really hope they pianted the grey on his arms and black on his legs like he should have ( I never appreciated how detaled this toy was untill I painted my extra one, the only reason the G1 toy looked like crap was lazzyniss in the painting.) For anyone who care heres what mine looks like.

And I link to all my other pics of him (to show the greys in the arms and the blacks in the legs)

OMG can you even imagine it? All the fan boys are going to pee their pants if a toy Galvatron comes out that says "Coronation Starscream? This is bad comedy" or "Here's a hint!" I feel like I am going to pee my pants right now thinking about it.  :eek

I never got the colour difference in the first place - was there any real reason that the anime version was purple and the toy/comic grey?

Well if you look closely at say the movie, Galvatron's alt mode colors have his torso (and pelvis during the sequences when it is visible and not retracted into the body too -- another albeit minor inconsistency) suddenly turning grey when it is that purplish-blue in bot mode.  The fact is, his animation colors aren't consistent with themselves to begin with (although this is perhaps the only real inconsistency within the animation).  His legs are supposed to retract up into his body, but the vintage toy had these legs that were not only ginormous but just sorta hung there.

What it looks like is someone came up with a generic toy for the alt mode (seemed to be a similar pattern with the other movie char toys) and then tried to keep the colors vaguely consistent by looking at various altmodes in the movie.  Looking at the movie char toys, you really don't get a sense that the toy designers/engineers paid very close attention to the transformation sequences that were used.  This approach probably works best when the alt mode is an actual object which has distinctively recognizeable characteristics.  However, with the movie chars, their most recognizeable characteristics were more in their robot forms.  The alt modes could have been slightly more tweakable while still retaining their recognizeable traits and passing off the difference as "stylish portrayal".  Floro Dery's char designs used in the movie do seem to have a fairly consistent logic to the transformation sequences even though there is still 'animation magic' used particularly for creating desired stylized proportions and involving some flexing and shapechanging of limbs (Galvatron's arms flattening).

Most of the vendor sites taking pre-orders are listing a 'TFC-21' model number.  I suppose, given the info we in the consumer public have, it's possible that the vendors may just be assuming this ID number.  But if it is correct, that would place this in line after the Kup & Wheelie reissue and, unless they decide to change the packaging style, in a similar kinda book-cover box with window.  As I recall though, Galvatron was just really bulky, and the reissues all seem to be in alt mode.  Whatever the case, gotta be one THICK box.
