Although the colors look "accurate" i am not convinced that they look Better....

The Animated Galvetron looks good in purple but partially because his porportions are all different.  His ratio of purple to grey is different so it looks more balanced....

 

As someone else mentioned - this new ALL PURPLE ALL THE TIME version looks like a bloated Shockwave....

 

I am also unimpressed with his head "remold"....

After looking at those comparison pictures carefully, I'd be willing to bet that they are in fact the same exact picture, one Photoshopped and one not. I certainly hope so anyway, b/c there's some miscolored areas on Purpletron.

Seventy dollars is too much for a toy unless it's either really big, or it's made of metal, has a bunch of accessories, is super-poseable, has possible electronics, is as accurate to the original show or toyline as possible, and has really cool packaging. The last one's a bit superficial, but the rest are ones I stand by.

Probably so, hopefully the real version's purple will be slightly muted

 

IMO I don't mind the purple over blue tho as while in the movie he was blue the show he was purple. Its also cool as I always saw Prime and Megatron/Galvatron as representatives of their respective factions ideals. When I saw the Return of Optimus Prime, one of the things that struck me was how Prime and Galvatron standing side by side was perfect as Prime's colors = Autobot ensigna and Galvatron's = Decepticon ensigna

I'm... aghast and intrigued at the same time. If this is indeed the mass reissue, I'll probably snatch that thing up just on general principles to compare him to my original Galvy. It's kind of cool, but... man is he weird lookin'.

 

As often is the case, the final product was an afterthought. :P
