Whole lot of original art and story (Non-TF)

Recommended Posts

Well, as a lot of you know, I'm a fan of the Brave series which aired in Japan during the 90's. Instead of drawing fanart, I decided to act out my fandom by drawing up some designs of my own. I kinda want to turn this stuff into a comic in time.

Black holes surround the universe. This is why space looks black when one looks out into the sky. Infinite in number, they slowly devour the universe and close in. There are spirits which drive them to consume, and something has halted the black holes' advance--but what?

This is Blazer. He is the main mech of the story. He is a soul made of energy which came to Earth and took over a man's SUV in order to combat evil. He gains his power from a nova far off in space which is threatened by the approaching evil. The stars in the sky are many, but far fewer in number than the black holes, but it is only because of the dead darkness of the black holes that the stars themselves can be seen, in a sort of yin-yang balance. But just as Blazer is a familiar of one of the stars, There exist familiars of the black holes. While these familiars exist about their respective stars and black holes to fight the real war, a few take the risk of investigating planet Earth, and the force therein. The three sinister entities, known together as Axis, have come to Earth because they have discovered a force there which has stopped the black holes' path. Channelling the souls of darkness from the black holes, Axis disposes monstrous demons into Earth machines, in order to destroy Blazer and extinguish the power found in Earth that keeps the darkness from consuming the universe.

Blazer focuses his powers into absorbing a physical medium, but can only keep his strength in check while in the relatively small body he created from the SUV he possessed on Earth. Although he is a highly skilled fighter and a clever tactician, he lacks physical strength. Since the forces of darkness have absorbed so much in the universe, the black hole familiars are overwhelmingly powerful. In order to combat the terrifying strength of the invading foes, Blazer must unchain his might and take control of an enormous and vicious machine, the war tank known as Slayer, to become FireBlazer.

FireBlazer_s.jpg

Fierce and almost completely unstoppable, FireBlazer ravenously combats the black hole familiars in a state of uncontrollable rage embodying a star at the very brink of death. He slays his opponents using the Fire Falchion, a massive blade capable of slicing cities. With every foe FireBlazer destroys, he takes some piece of his victim as a trophy. By pure subconscious will, he begins to construct something from the remains of his enemies...

The three entities of Axis remain behind the battle lines for weeks as they lead the charge for conquest of the Earth. When they discover the force within Earth which prolongs their victory, they realize the only way to combat it...

In order to help Blazer in his fight, familiars from four dwarf stars arrive on Earth to assist him: the Enforcer Team. Made up of Enforcer, Armor Force, Shadow Force, and Sniper Force, the four are able to combine to form Force Commando. Since the team is formed of lesser stars, he is controlled, very patient, and extremely accurate in sniping. Together with Blazer, the Enforcer Team protects the Earth as the stakes are raised.

As the fights rage on, FireBlazer stops taking trophies from enemies, and it becomes clear what he began to construct. The three members of Axis launch a deadly three-pronged attack at once, but FireBlazer and Force Commando are able to foil their plan and find Axis. FireBlazer is able to dispatch them individually, but Axis unleashes a power left hidden until then: The three fuse into a single, hellishly brutal robot. Axis tears Blazer from FireBlazer's chest, and shoots him to death. Force Commando struggles for his life against Axis. It is then that a dormant body awakens.

The body which FireBlazer constructed slowly lurches to life. Taking the form of a nuclear submarine, Stalingrad awakens as it takes in the soul from a young star. With judgment as cool and level-headed as Force Commando, and even more brute force than FireBlazer, Stalingrad defeats Axis and forces them to retreat. He picks up where Blazer left off and fights more denizens of the dark. Blazer's body may have been destroyed, but is he truly dead?

After many fights, Blazer reappears on Earth. His soul never died, but at the time of his body's destruction, he returned to his star and overcame a black hole threatening his life, with just his own strength. There exists such force not only in Earth, but in the stars and in all life: Courage. Blazer's body roars back to life, with fierce new vigor. The will of his star became clear during his return trip. FireBlazer created Stalingrad in order to fight alongside Blazer. The two of them contain a power yet unseen.

In a fight against Axis, FireBlazer, Stalingrad, and Force Commando are overwhelmed by the combined might of six dark familiars. Axis, with newfound strength, completely destroys Force Commando, backing FireBlazer and Stalingrad into a corner. They are forced to create the strongest form attainable: Grand FireBlazer...

combination_chart_1.jpg

Grand FireBlazer is the most powerful robot that ever existed, the combination of Blazer, Slayer, and Stalingrad. The Grand Fire Falchion, his final weapon, channels power beyond power and is capable of cleaving the Earth itself. Slaying every last foe before him, Grand FireBlazer locks fists with Axis. In a titanic brawl, the two opposite forces soar into space and fight for days. The Earth can only stand and watch as it becomes clear that Courage stretches far beyond merely the Earth; for it flows among the stars, stronger than the fear that the black holes have used for a thousand forevers. Axis and Grand FireBlazer die fighting, and the war at the edge of the universe rages on. Humans upon the Earth are so far from the frontlines of the war, that their era will die millions of years before the conclusion will be visible to even their most advanced satellites...

Is that inspired by the 'Brave' Series? (Great Illustrations, BTW)

Thanks for your comments. The ideas I've come up with are inspired by the Brave series, but are original as far as I know. I'm familiar with some of the series' plotlines, but I don't know everything since the shows were never in English.

In the first series, Exkaiser the Brave, a group of invaders called the Geisters comes to Earth to rob it of its treasures. A space police force known as the Kaisers shows up to stop them, and Exkaiser, the leader of the Kaisers, takes over a car and befriends Kouta, a boy. Most of the robots were meant to be TF's, but the designs weren't ever used until after the last G1 series aired in Japan. The Geisters were actually recolored versions of the original dinobots, but toys were never made of them.

In Brave Express Mightgaine, the world of the future has changed to rely heavily on trains for transportation. But with technology comes robots, and with robots comes a massive crime wave. Maito Senpuuji and a robot he invented named Gaine team up to fight the villains who terrorize Nouvelle Tokyo City. In this series, the main villain, Joe the Ace, pilots two robots which are recolors from Sonic Bomber and Dai Atlas.

In Brave Command Dagwon, monsters escape from a prison out in space and invade Earth. Five high schoolers are given a power by aliens that allows them to defend their planet from destruction. The characters in this show are a lot like the Power Rangers and other "Sentai" shows. The robot Thunder Dagwon is a retooling of Galaxy Shuttle.

GaoGaiGar is probably the most ambitious of the Brave Series, and it was the last. Sinister aliens known as the Zondar live beneath the Earth's surface and offer great power to people--which turns them into massive monsters. Gai Shishioh was injured years before while in space, and was rescued by a mechanical lion, Galeon. He was rebuilt as a cyborg, and he joined up with GGG (pronounced "3G"), a group meant to protect the Earth. The lion Galeon also brought another to the Earth, the child named Mamoru. 3G captured Galeon, who fuses with Gai to become GaiGar, who combines with the machines created by 3G to form GaoGaiGar, the King of the Braves, who must not only defeat the Zondar, but rescue the people tricked by the Zondar. Only Mamoru has the power to save the people poisoned by the evil Zondar. This show is really fantastic, and you can pick up a cheap bootleg of the series on eBay.

There were more series besides these, but I haven't seen most of them yet. My idea runs somewhat in the vein of the Brave series, but some ideas were completely original, such as FireBlazer being so ruthless, and even a little evil.

Lastly, since this is the Art board, I just drew up a sketch of Axis.

Also, as a bonus, take a look at this. This is a 3D animation I made a long time ago.

Everything is blocky and colorless, I know, but I made it to see if Axis' transformation really works. It does.

EDIT: I just sketched a picture of FireBlazer taking a trophy from a fallen foe.
