Why did big bots always sound stupid?

Recommended Posts

Big robots were dumb becuase if they were smart, all the robots would want to be big, the show would shift focus to the larger ones, the toys would be larger, cost more, and sell less.

keeping the smaller ones smarter, and more interesting, kept the show from being a race to see who could powerlink first.

example: Japanese Masterforce, etc....

The City Formers have an excuse becuse it takes longer for commands to reach the vocal coards.

I would say that LeoKaiser was the moast succesful Gestalt

That's a stretch, man... I can watch a chick shake her boobies on a webcam in real time from accross the country over a cable internet connection...  I doubt that simple electronic signals to create vocalizations would take more than a few nanoseconds to reach "vocal cords" from the CPU in a TF, assuming that a TF even HAS something resembling vocal cords. :tflaugh

Er what about Metroplex talks slowly becuse he's  keeping track of Kitchen apliances and Entertanment systems.

I think it's a Japanese culture thing. Their assumption is that if you are big, you're stupid. Maybe it's a compensation thing...

The problem with that theory is that it doesn't just apply to Japan.  Most western characters that are big are also not bright.

Although, the opposite has almost become a cliche.  You know, the surprisingly smart big guy with a heart of gold.  (think Beast from X-Men)

or the hulk? :wtf

they only seem like cliches because everything's been done at least twice already.

:wtf ... Oh wait, it's an X-bob post.

Let me rephrase that:

Metroplex is a City so he must have ppl living in him and those ppl need Water, Elextricity, Phone, Cable etc. etc.  If Metroplex is in control of all those functions it could be a serious strain on his sistem.
