BumbleBee (or what ever buddy bot they decide goes with spike) is sent into hiding by OPtimus or current autobot leader, carrying the "spark/matrix" in order to hide it from Megatron and the Decepticons, who are slowly overtaking the autobot forces on cybertron.

Something goes wrong, Bumblebee's ship goes down and crashlands on earth ala G1.  Years later (thousands millions, whatever)  Bumble is repaired by his ship, but still not awoken, somehow he is either removed from his ship or is found inside a cave, and towed away, with the Spark Matrix still in him.

then he ends up on the car lot where he is bought by spike....

any thoughts?

sounds possible, and a bit like skyfire's story in g1, myself i like the idea of pre start of movie we hear bumblebee telling a story of a battle, (good plug for hasbro's toys) , the decepticons however damage bumblebee and the autobots are forced to retreat, leaving bumblebee behind having to presume him dead as they are unable to return for him, years later a vw beetle is salvaged from a ditch and is repaired by a mechanic and his son, thats where the story begins

you have to remember, that he needs a way to become a VW... so he has to be on the planet with VWs at the time

well, i was presuming tfs were already on earth (all sources are saying tfs have been on earth for 1000s of years prior to the movie

But have they been active for all that time? In G1 they were around for 4 million years before they woke up and became public.

what i've gathered is that they have been active, just hiding "in disguise" the war has been going on for 1000s of years as well

we'll just have to wait, I've found second guessing movie writers to be hard on projects like this.

This part:

BumbleBee... *SNIP!* ... is either removed from his ship or is found inside a cave, and towed away, with the Spark Matrix still in him.

then he ends up on the car lot where he is bought by spike....

And this response:

years later a vw beetle is salvaged from a ditch and is repaired by a mechanic and his son, thats where the story begins

somehow seem familiar. :schin Like there was a movie with a hot girl done about two or three months ago that almost had this same idea but without War or Transforming robots or a Matrix. Gods... what was the name of that movie? :schin

:P Kidding guys. But I would flock to the TF movie a lot faster if little miss Lohan was envolved! :drool But, that's just my small opinion... :redface

I kind of like the idea about the opening voice over done by Bumblebee . It could be done in the manner of the "every-man" voice so movie-goers have a conduit for what they are personally thinking/feeling to be spoken or acted out upon the screen. Ya' know what I'm saying? :D

thats exactly what i thought, this recovered thing sort of is reminicent of the marvel comics as well.
