a thought about the bt story

Recommended Posts

ravage trapped megatron and some decepticons in a time warp so the autobots shall be in control of cybertron when unicron destroys the autobots.

unicron is not going to appear :tflaugh

think about it. the only way unicron knows of the matrix's location and predominance is because optimus dies and passes it on. no megatron = no battle for autobot city = no death of optimus

ravage has screwed up his own plans  :tfgrin

what does everyone else think of this theory

I could buy that.  I think that something official will definitely address Unicron shortly.  There are references to a "shift" in timelines so that I guess present day 2005 as we know it is an alternate reality to the TF:TM continuity and Seasons 3 & 4.  I believe, right?

I like the idea of carrying the G1 stuff forward without being bogged down with Rodimus Prime and the Quintessons and all of that crap.  It's not that I don't appreciate that stuff, but I think it's cool to move forward with a little sense of history and fun homages rather than being bogged down with an unbending continuity.  The big fans of the 2005/06 stuff from the TV show and the comics can still enjoy them.

Maybe they could do a parallel BT/Alt line that delt with that timeline?  A whole seperate story for UM, R. Prime, Galvatron and the rest?

found this in a fan fic about the bt story at the 2005 boards

EFFECTS

A wave, invisible and intangible, washed across the galaxy and out into the void beyond. Despite its intangibility, its effects were felt in subtle ways on many worlds.

Deep within Cybertron, Vector Sigma convulsed, sending out random signals to its networked components, knocking out several sub-stations. On the outskirts of Iacon, Optimus Prime was putting the last of the Decepticon’s occupying forces to flight when he suddenly fell to his knees and clutched his chest.

On the planet of Junk, Wreck Gar strode over to the flickering TV, gave it several well-placed thumps and sat back down in satisfaction as the picture cleared.

In Washington DC, several early warning security systems went off for no apparent reason. The Department of Homeland Security hastily issued a statement saying there was no cause for alarm, but raised the alert level just to be on the safe side. Across the Atlantic, the USA’s allies took the hint and did the same. The world shuffled a tiny step closer to Armageddon without pausing to consider why.

In Autobot City, Perceptor noticed a tiny flicker in the life signs of a dozen Autobots lying helpless in suspended animation. Overdrive, steadily deteriorating in sick bay, awoke from stasis lock as if he’d just had a nightmare.

In his private quarters, Ultra Magnus was too busy shaking feverishly to notice anything. He forced himself to be still, re-routed some minor nervous system responses and attempted to switch off the pain. He silently vowed to go on, and turned back to the Covenant of Primus for comfort and inspiration.

In his weakened state, it is perhaps forgivable that he failed to notice the text had changed.

is this the event you were refering to cyclone x?

I knew that and forgot.  You could still do some sort of parallel continuity with the more cybertronian autobots (Hot Rod, Kup, Blurr) with the same level of detail as BT/Alternators.

Unicron appears because he heard Primus scream (comic continuity all the way)

i'm not familiar with that, could you elaborate please?

It's original Marvel comic book continuity. Basically, a couple of transformers get into a fight in front of a sleeping Primus, then Grimlock shoots his rifle, it ricochets, and hits Primus. He wakes up, screams (as to why, I don't know. If I wake up, no matter how rudely, I never scream, and if that little shot hurted him so much, he'd be one whiney god), and that scream attracts Unicron's attention.

As for Unicron, it was never said that the turn-over of the Matrix from Optimus to Magnus was the reason for Unicron's appearance. In fact, logic states it is not.

Think about it. Huge universe. Prime and Megs fight, Megs looses, and Decepticons flee back to Cybertron. Prime dies, and gives matrix to Magnus. Meanwhile, on the way to Cybertron, the Decepticons eject Megs, who meets up with Unicron.

This means that Unicron was somewhere between Cybertron and Earth, or not too far from an imaginary line drawn between those 2 planets.

If the Universe is so huge, it would be very unlikely that Unicron just HAPPENED to be in that particular region of space at that time. So, he must have traveled there. The time-period between Prime removing the Matrix from his chest and giving it to Magnus, and Megatron meeting up with Unicron, is too short to asume Unicron just traveled there to that point in space. Therefor, he had to have known about the Matrix beforehand, learned of it's present location, and traveled there.

It would also explain why Megatron was chosen to become the leader of the Task-force Unicron created. He had already observed the Transformers for some time, plotting what was the best course to take, since he could not risk a direct attack, as long as the Matrix was still in the picture.

the proof is that unicron saw the matrix removed from optimus' chest, he saw the weapon that would eventually would be his undoing and so set about destroying it
