My new project

Fort Max

I'm giong to try to make a supersized Fort Max (3-4 feet long, who knows how tall). It will be a rolling fortress/City/Robot, maybe more. It will function more as a transport for Transformers and will hold a crap load of weapons and mini-cons. Right now all i have is the vehicle mode figured out. I use paint because it is the easiest for me to do simple line based drawings and such.

Ok, part 2. I have decided on a rough idea of the Transformation. It will be very box like. I do not think that will mater because he will have a lot of features to make up for it (i hope). It will be made from Balsa wood, wood, plastic, and a lot of other stuff at this point I'm thinking along the top of the back section will be mini-con ports. more as i get the drawings done.

Hmm.It's an interesting concept.

Reminds me of my Fort Max project I wanted to do.

About 3 years back,I started making a 6 ft tall Fort Max,to be in scale with G1 Magnus and Optimus.Well I got as far as his head/Cerebro and his upper torso.

The project started to get pricey,i spent about 500 bucks just on the upper torso.

So best of luck to ya man.

wood might be a hard thing to work with. I would rather use plastc for a more toy like feel, plus balsa is very fragile. That is just my opinion.

I have a workshop and would be usuing wood for the main frame of the body, might use plastic on the outside. Balsa would only be used in certain areas where i need well sculpted pieces.

Ok, the base mode is done now (more or less). It will feature a few simple platforms and the main guns will rotate in all modes allowing for a well defended base. The back side of the base mode will be a wide open space that will allow for transformers to be repaired and or set up smaller bases inside it. I was thinking of maybe adding a launch pad for Micromaster Countdown's rocket, not sure yet.

As for attaching plastic to wood will be a test and trail thing. I have heaps and heaps of spare wood of all types and can get plastic sheets, pieces, whatever i need to work with without too much of an effort. This will NOT be the perfect looking toy, but I am aiming for a decent toy that looks good, holds together well and will look good with other Transformers.

is the colour going to be brown?
