This is just a musing on my part, but I was thinking that since IDW knows that the War Within is so popular, they might just incorporate it into their continuity.  It would be conceivable that they could still have their version of G1 go along with the War Within which is rooted deep in the past without much fuss.  The conclusion to the regular DW G1 series could be spun off into TF Evolution.

I do wish that Emirate Xaaron could play a role, but he's a Marvel character, and is thus untouchable except for reprints.

Wasnt he in War Within volume one in the flashback where Starscream bribes him at the arena?

Different Emmirate... Xaaron is gold, this guy was blue. Or Purple. But not gold. He died later on, IIRC.

As for being a continuation, even though they've blatantly stated that it's going to be a complete restart with no links to Dreamwave whatsoever, if they somehow wanted to, they wouldn't be able due to leagl wranglings over the DW unreleased stuff.

Since War Within never finished theres nothing there to officially link it to G1 so we could unofficially link it to the new IDW story.

Besides, Furman has stated that he wants to complete WW3 and continue from there. I'm sure it's possible.

WW3 will be under the Headline of Generation. Generations is not connected to IDW Main series

Does that mean IDW will be publishing WW3(in one form or another?)
