Masterpiece Fortress maximus

Recommended Posts

why does everyone assume that a masterpiece FM would have to be bigger than the original? surely the level of detail and articulation are the masterpiece element of the item. if scale was so important MP prime would be 6 inches tall to be 'relative' to the original toy.

never even considered that a 2 foot tall fully articulated fm would rock

Of course you could do an Alt Fort Max as a Jiffylube or something like that. It would be small enough but big enough as well. After all he`d need to be something that would fit in with the alt scheme and blend in with the regular earth enviroment.

I am using this for my Alternators "fortress": (Look in the background of my custom seekers)  Not trying to superimpose my seekers thread onto this one, but that pic may give some of you guys some ideas  :thumb

it's the old MASK base, right on! I've started my scketches for my Fort Max" and will post them hopefully in the next month.

I`ve also started my sketches and plan to post them in the next week or so. Hopefully I`ll have some doen by thursday since I do them at break time at work.

ok, I suck at using photoshop for line drawing of anysort and only use paint for that sort of thing. I decided to go kind of a diff. route with my Fort Max idea. It will be a LARGE Rolling Base/City/Robot/???? Here is the first drawing i did of the vehicle mode, I plan on doing more later, but would like feed back on this basic mode first. It will later have a top and a front view. Tank Mode

EDIT: fixed link

ok, it's not working right now, i'll fix it later tonight, sorry about that. :tfmad

Would this guy be G1 cartoon accurate? Cuz, I wasn't all that impressed with his cartoon design.

Mine wouldn`t be quite toon accurate but will be rather close. More like a more modern version that would resemble a modern racing team`s HQ. To keep in line with the BT Alt theme the team would be called Binal Tech Industries Racing BTIR for short. He`ll have 3 garages in each leg and 2 garages in each arm. Unlike the original Fort Max this one`s legs will go out to the sides and the arms more towards the front of the HQ. A mat with a track drawn on it would complete the race HQ look. He`ll still have the tower like his G1 version and be a duo headmaster. The other possible idea is to simply make him into a space station as that would make a better base of opperations for the Autobots and allow him to be better hidden. Of course then you have the whole issue of take off and reentry every time they need him in either place. Also a falling space station is kind of a panic starter. Let me know which idea you guys think sounds best.

the race idea sounds best, fits like you said. The tower could operate as a platform to watch races and suck, a windowbox.
