Perceptor, a triplechanger?

Who said science couldn't be fun?  Examine slides and then blast them into the next galaxy!

Well, with that logic, I am a triple changer! I can do that if I removed my spine!

The tank mode was Pre-Transformers and was never mentioned in the cartoon, comic or even in the instructions that came with the toy.  He is capable of three modes but not in Transformers.  Why I couldn't tell you.

That's not true. I got 2 Perceptors one Xmas and the tank mode was on atleast one set of instructions. I can almost remember it vividly but that was going on 20 yrs ago. I going to do a search.

Okay photographic proof.

They had to explain those treads some how. He even rolled on a couple of episodes, instead of shrinking and getting inside of one of the cars.

Nice find :thumb

The problem with that mode is in the first 2 seasons of G1, every bot had an alt. mode with a definite resemblence to something real. That third Perceptor mode is on the same level as E Scorponoks ship mode :tdown

Only when Jetfire's "gerwalk" mode becomes recognized and makes him a Triple changer, then will Perceptor be accepted as one as well.  And Sky Linx, for that matter...  and Powermaster Prime...

If the box didn't say "Triple Changer", then the "third" mode only counts as an attack/battle mode, ala G1 Tracks.  IMO, anyway.

Jetfire's gerwalk mode is in the instructions. I have them saved as a jpg from tfracetrack.

While he may have never used his tank mode, it was likely designed that way (story wise) for his mold. Just because he never used it doesn't mean that other characters that used that mold didn't.

Well, if you can consider RID Mega-Octane/ G1 Onslaught as a triple changer in a way, as I do, then it would be okay for perceptor to be considered as a triple changer as well  :thumb . To tell you the truth, I never knew about perceptor's tank/ "mobile laboratory" (according to the instructions provided by tman978) form until I saw E-Hobbie's version of perceptor inwhich helps me explain why a microscope would have tank tracks for.

funny i thought he was a triple changer anyway.

i dont count base modes as triple change unless it is a CITYBOT FORTMAX/TRYPTICON/METROPLEX/SKORPONOK

he sucks no matter what he is.
