Perceptor, a triplechanger?

Recommended Posts

After seeing the takara re-issue and the E-Hobby exclusive re-issues ofPerceptor. could it be argued that he was a TripleChanger? i mean he has that "tank looking mode" along with his regular microscope. what does everybody think?

I say "NO", cause Perceptor was a puss. I can't imagine him having an alt. mode being heavy artilery.

I had him orginally as a kid and formed the tank mode your refering to, but it never fit the characters personality so I never used it.

well in the show they never used it so im going with no

The tank mode was Pre-Transformers and was never mentioned in the cartoon, comic or even in the instructions that came with the toy.  He is capable of three modes but not in Transformers.  Why I couldn't tell you.

Someone wrote a story about him once, involving the Tank mode... apparently they cited that due to the fact that he's a scientist, and not a warrior, he doesn't use it... as the "cannon" he has, is rather whup-arse....

Even so, that's just one person's opinion in a story they wrote...

What about Tracks?

That's not true. I got 2 Perceptors one Xmas and the tank mode was on atleast one set of instructions. I can almost remember it vividly but that was going on 20 yrs ago. I going to do a search.

Okay photographic proof.

They had to explain those treads some how. He even rolled on a couple of episodes, instead of shrinking and getting inside of one of the cars.

i was unaware the tank mode was ever shown in the instructions, but yes, Perceptor was triple-changer: Robot/Microscope/Tank-Ion cannon type. The Tank mode allowed for a microman to ride in a small area that folded down. Good job on those instructions btw Tman978!

its not a tank, its a moble lab :P

its not a tank, its a moble lab :P

Yeah mobile lab........With a big ass cannon attached just in case. Hasbro was taking a nonviolent approach on that one.
