BT-16... BLACK WIDOW?!?

I'm actually glad Hasbro and Takara don't see eye to eye all the time. It opens up choice.

And Madhammer, I agree with you on the Decepticharge fiasco.  Although it is interesting that one of the very first Alts was a Subaru Rally.  Yes it is a real life car, but not too much different in the sense of decals, numbers, etc, than Decepticharge.  So it's funny that Takara takes exception to Decepticharge but not the Rally Subaru.

I think it makes perfect sense. That Subaru Impreza (one of them at least) is driven by the World Rally champion; it's a well-known car. Decepticharge is nothing but a made-up ...thing. That's the problem Takara had with it, not the fact that it had "racing" decals on it. I think the same would also apply to the differences between BT Prowl and Alt Prowl.

I still wish they had just released the mold as Windcharger in the first place -- the real Windcharger with the right head sculpt.

I wish that too cept I want Windcharger's(DC) head on the Mustang's body Like it was Sposed ta be. Wheeljack should've been a Corvette and Swerve coulda been maybe........a Jeep or Xb.

I actually like Windcharger's head on the S2000 better. The Mustang makes for a hella bulky robot mode. I do have to agree about Wheeljack though. That digibash that Furious George did of an Alt Wheeljack using Tracks' body was just too perfect.

just tell them to hurry up and relase them that's all i want.....wait nevermind tell them to make it to where i can find them, i'm 2 behind

For anyone in the know, does that mean that the "new subline" is Asterisk or another new line?

IMO, wouldn't it have been easier if Takara just removed all the fake decals and called him Drag Strip if their beef was realism?

I would guess that the BT* line is exactly that. After all, they're all repaints.

also, good point re: Decepticharge.

So...

2. BT currently doing well enough to spawn a general market subline.

Not so sure, the BTA line may an attempt to increase sales/profit  on a line that's listing.

Think about it:  They cost an extra $5.00 or so for a figure that probably costs Tak $0.75 to manufacture.  Whatever it costs them, i strongly believe the $5.00 increase is not propotionate.

The BTA's are packaged in bot mode, cutting out the time needed to line up parts etc correctly to fit them in the box properly

Speaking of BTA doing well, I dont think alert should've been Packaged in Robot mode. new buyers are gonna have a hell of a time getting him to be a car
