Cybertron Megatron and Optimus Prime

Recommended Posts

Call me nitpicky, but I really hate the fact that Hasbro did not bother to paint Prime's force chip's border.  They did the same with Vector Prime's.

Yeah alot of things they didn't do to the Hasbro version that the Galaxy force version has. Like paint the little lights on Primes roof yellow, or paint the gold trim on the force chip. They also didn't paint the hubcaps on the wheels that hide under the backpack piece, also they didn't fully paint the blasters that lay on the side on the legs. So far thats all the differences I see other than the blue plastic used for the legs and arms looks a bit lighter in these pics.

He left out one thing about this Optimus Prime: His rear wheels has suspensions, like Alternator Hound. There's also a black button in the two gun pods that attaches to his legs in his super mode, but I don't know what they're supposed to do.

So far, the first wave of Transformers: Cybertron toys I've got includes the "Speed Planet" map. is it different on yours, D.B.?

And I do agree that he's too expensive, especially when his transformation is so simple.

I prefer the cannons on the bottom, More show accurate and then the detail in the wings are on the right side.

*Nods* That he does. However, I did mention I specifically didn't mention a couple of the features he has, so, whomever does pick him up may find a couple extra surprises.  :thumb  No clue what the little buttons do either... I think they may be part of what holds him together in vehicle mode.

Same here, map of Speed Planet came in mine, have to say, not half as interesting as the little pictures that used to come on the back of the G1 toys.  :roll

And yah, nice to hear someone agree's with me, that he's a bit pricey for what you get. I like him, but, I think I'd have liked him a lot more if they'd knocked, maybe 10-20 bucks off the price? Might have even picked up Megatron while I was at it. No chance I'd buy the giant Starscream, unless it went on sale...  :redface

EDIT: One thing, I may do about the detail lack, is get some wash (type of very watery model paint that seeps into cracks to make the details), and paint him over with that. I did that on my Energon Omega Supreme, and picked out all the details on his face, so it shows through that thick mask of his.

how much is he selling for?  $40?

how much is he selling for?  $40?

Yeah, same as in Armada and Energon.

$60.00 CDN in most places, should be, but $70.00 at TRU... ouch.  I'll be waiting for the WM release, thank you very much.

somehting else i noticed today...i have the GF version and the wings have a metal pin, that hold them together, however, in the Cybertron version, the wings have been removed and you need to put them on yourself...does that mean no pin?

Yep, no pin.  They've been remolded break-away style, so that they can be easily removed/replaced.  Which, as long as they're stable, I find to be a better design idea, as they'd seem like the first things that would break should he take a tumble.

Drak_Bloodhelm beat me to the Cybertron Optimus Prime rant, so here’s my Cybertron Megatron rant (I’ll flesh out the rest of the review later, for now, pictures

Robot

I really love how Megatron look in his robot mode. Somehow, for an evil leader, he looks really vibrant.

P.S. anybody know how to resize a pic in photobucket? I obviously need to trim the pics down before I go on....

Thanks!
