The problem with the Constructicons is that in the G1 cartoon there are 3 different origins.

 

S1 Megatron built them

S2 They were Autobots reprogramed by Megatron

S3 They are seen building Megatron

He's exactly right, its just poor writing, I dont know how many people here follow the highlander movie series but the same thing is present there, no one bothers to pay any attention to the story or origins set up in previous episodes, albeit the highlanders are a lot worse at it, the movies not the tv series that is.

Without getting off track into the whole "who built the Constructicons" topic, I have a question. Did Optimus Prime ever say that in the cartoon? I don't think so.

Optimus is definitely a fraud.  What about isolating the dinobots on an island, just because he didn't like their personalities?

Well, they are utilitay vehicule, so they were autobots first, but they joined megatron.

That's because He chosed autobots camp. There were defevtions in both side.

I'm trying to put these three together. What come next is just a produce of my mind: 1Megatron Buid them during golden age (peace) in prevision of the war he was formenting and "assigned" them to the Autobots (being utilitary vehicules) to "hide" them.

2During the war, Megatron "repragrammed" them (as he had always intended sincethe beginning) so they would be decepticon.

3Megatron was deeply damaged and constructicon rebuilded him (thus passing from tank to lazer gun).

here's the chronological order

 

the constructicons build megatron but continue posing as neutral untill they reveal their true nature smurfing off omega supreme in the process, fleeing from omega's wrath the constructicons leave cybertron to find megatron but land unsucessfully and are sent offline.

 

megatron finds their craft and rebuilds them using their repaired ship as the temporary base in heavymetal war and as their temporary movable base threoughout season 2.

Yes, but in War Dawn, Megatron was one of the first few Decepticons and he starts the war, but in S3, the war had been going on for millions of years. Explain that one. ;)
