A proto question

Recommended Posts

Now this may be appropriate towards kitbashers as they are willing to do things to TFs that I cannot ;) but after seeing this on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...ssPageName=WDVW I wondered how hard is it to dump a figure in a tub of turpentine and then sell it as a `proto` I can see nothing about this one that says proto/test shot really.

well, the grey parts on this testshot should still be white if it was a regular toy stripped from its paint

and who says that this is the 1984 Jazz?

but surely if the white paint is stripped from a Jazz figure it would expose the grey diecast metal underneith, same as you can see the grey if you ship the paint

as for being 1984 thats what I wondered, did someone pick up a reissue Jazz and strip him?

some plastic melts in turpentine :inhrf

but if you take it apart it could be done, you sure that isnt just a stepper proto?

Dump in a bucket or lovingly and gently rubbed with a paint removing substance ;) I have no idea on this one, it doesnt show any normal signs or weird test plastics like in this reissue jazz one

its not a Proto IMO but the one with the blue parts and white guns is a realy proto

it seems newer proto's have numbers on them. also if i ever get a proto it will be a black and transparent one like the Iron Hide and Prowl guys of late

the more recent prototypes have NOT FOR SALE printed on them, but i woulnt shell out more then normal price we know some people have kitbashed them , any one seen the lucky draw clear Tf's those where a joke

alternator prototypes are worst for it they sellfor $100++  one week then the next they cant give them away

we rarely see Protos, as protos are unfinished molds

testshots are finished in mold, but not in color, 99.99% of what we see on Ebay are testshots

semantics, technically anything before production can be described as a prototype ;)
