Which type of Pretender is better?

Recommended Posts

This is inspired by Werewulf's post in TFTD.

Of the different types of Pretenders, and how they were portrayed (I guess there are only 2) in the US comics vs Masterforce.

In the comics, the Pretender shells were HUGE! Skullgrin was gigantic, as well as those other ones that climbed the Empire State Building. The robots were also pretty large, and the Pretender shells were basically invincible except for when Starscream in his Underbase change up was able to destroy them.

The Autobot Pretenders were also very large, so they did not use mass-shifting to disguise themselves as humans. Landmine had gone to a space station and the humans were gigantic, and it still fooled (who's the fool now) the aliens there to think they were real humans...

Both types were able to control their pretender shells, even when they weren't in them.

In Masterforce, the Cybertron Pretenders were able to be the size of normal humans, even though their robot modes were large. They also were damaged more easily than in the US comic. I do not know if they were able to control the shells like in the US. Also the Destron Pretenders were large sized as well.

In the US comic the Pretenders generally stayed in their shell most of the time, probably because they were more powerful that way. In Japan, the Cybertron pretenders got out of their shells to fight, while the Destron ones did not do that so much.

I prefer the US Comic was of things but it is cool to see them animated.

I like the japenese Pretenders, they just used Hard Light Constructs to disguise themselvs as humans,

In Victory The Dinoforce, and Crossformer Pretenders could control there shells when in robot mode, and there shells were large
