How Do TFormers Move Their Wheels?

Recommended Posts

There is such a thing as 'drive by wire" technology where the wheels of a car would have their own motors to make them rotate and stop.

Even though this isn't realistic, Going by the character bios and all the stuff in the comic and cartoons, It's my belief that when a transformer transforms into something they actually become the real version of their alt mode. Instead of them being portrayed as Robots in Disguise, They've always been portrayed as Robot that Transform, completely, into other things.

What I mean by this is when Bumblebee transforms, he actually becomes a Beetle, housing front and rear seating and all the fixins of a real car interior. When you open Tracks' hood there is actually an engine. When Astrotrain becomes a Space shuttle Blah, blah.

Even Beast Wars. When they became animals, they were totally capable of eating substances and digesting them as energon.

For the sake of realistic fantasy I have to say, look at the BT primary sketches and not the toys. In the sketches, the bots are more technologically advanced. If Transformers were real their bodies would be more involved than what the toys can show us. They use super advance Cybertronian tech. Think about it like this, When you transform the toys, you rearrange the parts to make it appear to be a car or what ever. If they were real they would have so many hidden compartments and connectors it would blow our minds. Think about Transformers the Movie. When Unicron transformed to bot mode, His body seperated and you see all kinds of Poles, cables and wires unscrewing from each other and then hiding inside his body. At the same time other parts are shifting and exposing themselves. Alternators Tracks would do the same thing when becoming a car. Instead of the flimsy pegs that make the steering system work or the pegs that hold the hood and car rear together, he have a system of connecting units rearranging panels so advanced that in Corvette mode yes, he would be able to proform as a real car. In most cases their proformance is better than the real thing.

I hope people read this after all I've typed.

Good read, although I think I have a more realistic explanation than any of you have offered.

The method is obvious - Flintstone technology. They give it a good run and let the car roll at whatever speed they gave to push the thing in the first place.

So what your saying is as long as the bot is running before it transforms it can then go at any speed!? Why didn't you tell me this before I broke out my thinking cap. Which is obviously broke by the way. Damn I'm stupid! Shifting, interlocking panels. Rubbish!!

Heh, I do believe more in engines in the wheels with powersources everywhere in the body.

SO that's why the Diaclones came with drivers!

They are superior in technology, far surpassing ordinary humans. they can create servo-engines the size of a fingernail, yet capable of generating forces strong enough to lift entire buildings. Making a small engine to rotate a simple wheel would be nothing for them. Heck, even a non-sentient supercomputer like Teletran-One could pull it off!

So I did write all that for nothing. I'll blend your theory with mine.

ok ignoring previos oppinions hows this?

maybe their wheels are like a monorail, strong magnetic forces cause rotation, as a result of the "push" there is the tension in the tyre enforcing the realism???

YEa but I didn't think monorails had wheels.
