Lighting Beast Machines Darkest Hour

Recommended Posts

So we all know that Primal wasn't Prime.  Which means some Maximal somewhere had the matrix.  Now logic and the hate plague incedent would dictate that once megatron released his virus and started sending out drone armies, that the matrix would be opened to light some darkest hours up!

so why wasn't it?

Because the only Autobot wisdom it possessed at that point was Rodimus Prime's, and he sucked. :P

It's one of those Unsolved Mysteries episodes  :wtf  :tfhuh ! From what I remember after the hate plague the Matrix was supposedly empty. And Prime said they had to fill it up again. It could be that maybe when BW Megs started to conquer the Matrix was still useless and was more of an icon, and not having any power now since Optimal did not bother to look for it "to light their hour".  Or since Megs took everyones spark, one of the first ones he took was the Matrix bearer not given time for it to be used.

I know. 300 years in TF time is like nothing (at least according to G1). Think of how many million years it took to fill the Matrix the first time. Rodimus Prime's two weeks on the job wasn't exactly enough to fill it up again.

But then this touches on an area of BW continuity that's never really explained: WTF happened to Optimus Prime and everyone else who survived G1? The matrix of leadership is never mentioned in BW (aside from that uber-confusing Prime's spark scene in "Optimal Situation").

Anyway, deus ex machinas suck.

The Maximal Council of Elders had it most likely, since they're the leading body of Cybertron (or atleast the Maxies.)

good call :thumb (and yes they do rule the Predacons too - hence BW Megs' resentment)

I was always under the impression that everyone was suppose to be long dead of old age. that 300 years estimate was just the result of the writers not doing their f***ing homework.

that's exactly what Beast Megatron's virus was: something to get the populace of cybertron out of the way because the folks at mainframe didn't have the money or resources to make generic tf's.

I think they lead the Maximals more than they do the Predacons.  BW Megs seemed to hate the fact that the Tripredacus Council 'still kisses the skidplates of the Maximal Elders' or something to that effect.  The Predacons are probably in no position to really stand up against the Elders, so they inevitably give in to the demands/rules/laws of the Elders.

But since the Maximal Council of Elders most likely had the Matrix, when Megatron came and unleashed his awesome virus upon the planet, no one was left to get the Matrix and open it, assuming the Matrix would even open for said 'bot.  I don't believe Rodimus to be leader in the Beast Era.

And then Megs takes their sparks and Matrix still locked up somewhere. But still not that important since Primal and troops never looked for it or stress it's importance to save the day.
